My curtains are up and everyone is due in and hour, so just a quicky. Anne you must ask to someone about your red breast, after all you are not a robin and it is not Christmas. I’m sure it’s nothing, but better to be safe than sorry.
Sandra where are you ?
Hugs to everyone, I think it will be quiet this weekend, everyone seems to be going away or having friends over. hope you keep awake Kris, I hope I do too, but then we have a good excuse.
Maria
oh dear I must come on here more often just taken me over an hour to try to catch up but scrolling down and reading is making me feel sick so sorry…I’ll just jump in here. Had those horrible headaches again for a few days and a period!!They told me these would stop(I was looking forward to that),they lied.
Thank you for all the comments about the photo it’s not a professional one that’s why it’s not so good but I look happier.
Son saw the newspaper one and he was upset by it. He said that he has no memories of me ever being miserable and now has that pic in his mind so I told him to get it out of his mind NOW. His dad went to see him and took it with him.
Up to now banked just over £600!! and money still coming in never thought I’d raise that much. Thanks for all the support.

Hello everyone,
I am rubbish at keeping away aren’t I! Just aNted to wish everyone a good weekend, I am surrounded by clothes trying to decide what to pack. I have got everything for the Boys from waterproofs and wellies to swimming trunks and sandals. Just can never tell in the uk can you! Good job have got a big car!
Am feeling bit better and more positive. Have read the cancer counselling trust article again which helped. Not sure the counselling will help, I think I already have a lot of insight into how I feel and what steps I have to face, and counselling seems to be aimed to show you that from what I can tell? But am pretty sure it isn’t going to do any damage do sm going to keep going. Just felt wierd talking about myself and kept feeling I had to fill the silences so babbled more. Luckily I am world champion talker so was able to rise up to the challenge! They do offer free massages, reiki, reflexology and Indian head massage though do that’s prob worth it!
If you sre at a loose end this week you can come to mine and look after it. There is s farm behind do you could sll help out there now you have experience from isabelles. And you can go hiking on saddleworth moor , lots of hills round here which you should all be used to since going to marias. You can do s trip to Manchester city centre for nightclubs, china town, selfridges, Harvey nicholls and slso go and see man city and man united play if you do wish! Numerous jobs to do, if anyone can build a retaining wall to stop our garden falling any further down the hill that would br good! You can pop to suze’s and carols too. Help with the allotments and drink all suze’s vino whilst she is out. Her own fault for going away again!
Hope everyone does ok whilst I sm away. Maria, Is it your last tax next week, and is it your second sandra? Good luck everyone with treatments and side effects

Have a nice over night stay with your son. My daughter is back of holiday today, I dont see her everyday but we talk on the phone. She has text me everyday and rung a few times , I have really missed her though.

GOSH WE ARE A TIRED LOT THIS WEEK…THINK WE’VE BEEN HOLIDAYING TOO MUCH
HOPE EVERYONE FINDS SOME ENERGY AND RECOVERS SOON…HUGS XXX
Good morning everyone, Well didn’t sleep again, think I am going to get a job working nights lol. I did work nights once for a few months, I was out of work and I needed a job with good money. I had never worked in a factory before, but it was really good. Your never going to belive what the job was, I was making air bags for cars, I bet your saying agggggghhhhhhhh lol I was only there a few months because I fell down stairs and broke my ribs (now your saying that more like me lol) I was only temporary so they couldn’t leave my job open.
Carol, sounds like you have a real nice job. I am coming up there for you to get me food for the wild birds, I spend a fortune on bird seed and stuff. I love watching the birds, in the winter I make them cakes with fruit and nuts and seed, they love them. I did the bird watch thing one year, where you watch your garden for an hour. You have to count and name the birds that use your garden, we live in the country surrounded by fields so we get loads of birds.
Isabelle, hope you had a good nights sleep. How long now before you go on your cruise ? bet you cant wait.
Anne, hope your ok, and the side effects aren’t treating you to bad.Have a nice weekend, and keep getting your rest.
Sandra, really sorry your feeling rough, I thought something was wrong being has we hadn’t see you about.
Well I have to visit my son today, its there wedding anniversary today, so I have to take round there card and pressie
Hope all of you have a good bank holiday.

Love Heather,

Hi Ladies,
Not me having a crash!! Computer problems! Lol
Speak Later
xxx
I had a great evening and my kitchen man was so proud of his curtain-rail-putting-up that he told me we could swing from the curtains, not problem !!
Funny though, I feel better physically (day 17) and worse psychologically, really sorry for myself.
So glad you are OK Sandra, I’d send my son over to help, but he will only get the hoover out !!
The photo is 2nd son stroking a 3 month old lion cub rejected by his Mum.
Heather, they are showing “some mothers do have them” on sky television, you remind me of him, breaking ribs while working !!! (no offence meant) I do hope they sort you out soon though.
Anne, how is our little robin ?
Carol, I have some bum fluff on my head too.
Dee I loooove the photo.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Hugs
Maria
Afternoon everyone…

Heather …hope you have a lovely time at daughters
Maria…great that you had a fantastic night last night and that the curtain rail is back up.

Sandra, sorry you’ve had a smash up, hope all’s well soon, we are missing our fountain of knowledge and wisdom!
Heather, you’ll be making cupcakes for your birds soon. I always do the Great Garden Birdwatch, I’ve been an RSPB member for years.Hope you put niger seed out for the Goldfinches.
I’ll bet you are a lady who loves the musicals. I’ve just been watching the Proms with songs from Rogers&Hammerstein-fab, my favourite is Carousel. Some mothers do av em, Heather is the female version-no offence!!
Maria, curtain swinging, he must be a pretty good curtain rail putter upper, can we all come and test it out, not Heather ,though!
taxi, are you a robin or a Red Booby bird?
Hope eveyone has a good weekend
Carolxx
hi de hi ho de ho campers
It all started on Wednesday, when l noticed l had no internet connection, phoned the man in India up (as you do!) he said the fault was on my line (as they do!) told me to unscrew the main phone socket box and check the test socket, so l got my little screwdriver and proceeded to unscrew when all of a sudden l pulled the box (big error) has anyone seen the inside of a phone socket box? Like a jungle! So for the next two hours there l sat with two phones to my ears (upstairs and downstairs) trying to get a dialing tone! Stuck it all back together with the help of sticky tape, Yes very handy!
Phoned the man in India, and told him there was nothing wrong with my socket!! He then decided the exchange was down, even though l could use the phone. By this time l was turning into Mrs Angry, told him l needed to speak to someone that could help me rather than hinder me! So he said he would get his boss that knew everything to speak to me!! A man that knows everything,!!
Spoke to the boss, who said there was a fault on the internet exchange and it would be sorted in 2/5 hours, well that was Wednesday, at last on Friday l got reconnected, and that 2/5 hours turned into 3 days. But the man from India phoned to ask me if l was happy!!! What can you say, without being too rude!! Yes thank you l said, in my lovely polite voice. Still keeps going funny, perhaps it is my computer, when l fell asleep with the lolly!!
Carol, No peachy mother number 5 is next Friday! Invitations to a curry evening! Are your taste buds ok? Mine are in ruins!
Heather, agree with you with regards to bc, seems to go on and on forever, well l suppose it will really, cant ever see it leaving me! What a dreadful thought.
Hope you are getting a little more sleep, so frustrating when you cant sleep.
Vickie, Hope you have a lovely holiday, yes agree with you, think we need to take a step back with reading the posts at time, although not space from my lovely breast friends.
Ann hope you are ok, and your ‘bad’ boob, perhaps you need to get it checked out, make sure there is no infection.
Lesley, Really pleased you will be seeing your son soon. Well done on all the money you have collected, almost worth going bald for!! Be good to see your son, then he will see you are not really that sad!
Maria, turning into a swinger then? But not sure about swinging from a curtain rail!
Kris, Thanks for the ‘funnies’ hope you had a good evening out,
Think it was Carol that thought you had property all over the place!! Can’t blame me! Not been here!! Lol! You made us spend all our week with Perry, poor K house has been left abandoned! Think we better get there and give it the lived in look!! Few empty bottles here and there!
Heather, sorry you are still not getting much sleep, well if the knitting is out because of the wrist, what about rub making, not quite so bad! I use to make rugs with my mum when l was a little girl!! Well not that little probably a teenager! My grandma use to make rugs out of material, do you remember them, she use to make her own pattern up. Might have a look on the website to see how much they are these days, mind you not a good idea for you Heather, you would probably fall over it once it was on the floor!
Denise Love the new photo! Good look young man you have there, his Mum is not bad either, well for a wench!
Elaine Pleased your first peachy mother went ok, hope you are still feel alright?
Isabelle, What is going on? Every time you post you are going back to bed!! Have you one of those farmers under your duvet!!
Gill, Hope you have worked your way through your 1st tax! And feeling almost human again.
Jackie, Hope your rads are going ok, how is your abscess not heard about it lately, has it gone Lol! You wish!!
Saffronseed hope you had a good holiday.
Suze hope you have a good weekend.
K did you have a good holiday? weather wasn’t brilliant, but the change of scenery must have been lovely.
Tracey, Hope you are ok
Eldest Grandson was 6 today, so have had a fun packed day! And very exhausting, having his birthday party next week, so today was family day! So all arrived mid morning, lots of presents opened by a very excited little boy. Then we went off to the pub! To have a lovely meal, sat in the gardens as they have a lovely play area, then the rain came, all of a sudden the gardens were empty, just our mad family still sitting there, with the sun shade up! Just a quick shower!!!
Then we tried lighting his birthday cake with a breeze about almost impossible, as fast as we lit the candles the wind blew them out! But we had a good laugh about it and the children thought it was hilarious.
Stuffed ourselves silly, with everything in sight, had lots of lovely children sweets, although taste buds not very good, still enjoyed them, had a sherbert fountain, Mmmmmmmmm them and Gobstoppers were my favourite as a kid! My dad used to say they could never make one big enough for my mouth! Whereas my Mum thought they were an awful sweet for a little girl!! Sugar and spice and all that!
Anyone had favourite sweets as kids?
Tomorrow they are off to Lego land , rain or shine they will have a good day, rain doesn’t stop them doing anything, but it will be nice if it is a dry day!
Just pasted this, really couldn’t do it again!!
Love and Hugs
Sandra xxx
Oh, Sandra, didn’t you know those people in India read from a script and don’t know how to behave like humans. I had to speak to Dell Indian a couple of years ago as my CD drive wouldn’t work. All I wanted was for them to send someone out with a new one. we had to go through all the diagnostic stuff from his “list”. I just wanted to yell "I know exactly whats wrong with it, just ****ing well send me a new one!!! I got so stressed, it made me ill. anyway a very nice English man did come and fit me a new one-job done, except I have recently discovered that he replaced mu DVD drive with just a CD drive so it won’t recognise DVD discs. Computers-what would we do without them, stay sane I suppose!
I have just watched the Martin Clunes programme about horses that was on last Sunday-amazing. I can just about taste curry.and chocolate of course! we had sherbet dips, we called it kaylie (don’t know how it’s spelt as I never saw it written down ,dipped liquirice sticks in it, after spitting on them of course - very hygenic!
Love Carolxx PS, I always paste now.
Not sure why but I did not manage to copy and paste all this. Hi-di -ho I think I said something like I too have seen the inside of a telephone socket when I was talked through a similar process by my BT 'case worker,in India when I subscribe to BT broad band at Easter several days and BT engineers later the last engineer suggested I move house lol. And I live just round the corner from Legoland. I took my g-s there on Aug BH Sunday last year it was very hot and they ran out of drinks and ice-creams but I had packed a picnic and loads of drinks. If it is not too late I would suggest that as the food is of the junk variety and vastly over priced too. Sandra I have a fridge magnet with the motto ‘Do you want to speak to the man in charge or the woman who knows whats happening?’ Another one says ‘what part of the word NO don’t you understand. The last time my g-s were down the elder aged 6 wanted to know what it meant. Must have explained it OK as he later told his mum what it meant. Mm sweeties not gobstoppers for me I loved Kali with a hard licquorice stick to dip in it’s a wonder I have any teeth left after all that sugar lol. There are 2 sweet shops here now selling all the old faves except they do not give out samples outside the shop like the Hotel du chocolat does oh yum yum.
Anne and Denise how lovely for you to meet up at Blackpool Vic hope you have a great day.Yes I can do the eye make-up we were shown.
Lesley I put my name down in Feb at a MacMillan centre at the hosp were I go for my rads. I had gone there for a relaxation and visualisation session, although it was a long way I was having a c****y time of it then. They also sorted out some therapy sessions for me too.All really well worth it and fitted in with rads too.
Heather, our little night owl. Well I knew someone must make air-bags did you also pack them into the dash too. How on earth do they squash them in there? Hope you can get some better rest and that the inc. dose of your morphine kicks in soon.I too love doing the Bird Watch. Only a couple of days ago I was in the garden and I saw a bird perched on the ridge tiles of my roof it was a green wood pecker. I also see red kites everyday hovering over the field behind my garden they come in quite low. Pretty Woman I loved that film, and Julia Roberts line to that snooty man was just priceless.
Vicki hope you have a great time in Barmouth sounds like you have all bases covered with all the kit you have packed. Hope the sun shines for you.
Taxi hope your s/e have lessened over the week-end and that you are having a better time of it.
Maria glad you got the curtainrail fixed wow that workman was proud of his skill but having all swing on it might prove a bit too much lol. Hope you have a lovely time with your friends. The photo is great wondered who it was of.
Elaine if your sickness/ nausea doesn’t settle you must tell them at the Chemo unit as there are a variety of meds to help with this hope they find one to suit you .
Kris you describe our journey so well.I love your tales. Hope you are having a great time with your friends perhaps we will all get to Spain soon?
Lesley what a b****r head-aches and a period it really isn’t on is it. Well done with the fund raising. Are you seeing your son this week-end?
Suze I think you are kidding us all and are probably swanning around B-o-T dolled up to the 9s.
Sounds like loads of people are away this week-end.Wish I was. Had been hoping I might get a break after the rads but this blinking abscess is driving me potty. Last week was the 1st week on 2 dressings rather that 3-4, but it started to hurt again and on Fri when I saw the practice nurse it had started to ooze a lot and was very yukky. So she did a swab, again, and went to get the GP who prescribed a high dose of Metronidazole. I was about to take one in the car on the way for rads but then saw it has to be taken after food with loads to drink and can make you go funny, my summary of the s/e and if it does not to drive lol. AND no alcohol as it makes you throw up – just thought I’d share that. Still no news of an appt with the plastics team for removal Well what with the Fosamax tomorrow first thing on an empty stomach and staying upright for ½ hour then this a-b it will be lunch time before I get anything done lol. Am looking forwards to daughter, s-i-l and his brother and partner and their toddler coming on Mon-Tues. Hoping for good weather as we want to have a BBQ so fingers crossed.
Carol hope you are OK got some good runner beans and courgettes coming on and am encouraged to try more veg next year had a really bad load of toms last year and have not bothered with them again this time.I do put niger seeds out for the gold finches but saw little of them in the winter not sure if it was you who mentioned that?
Hope everyone is having a good week-end. Love and (((hugs))) Jackie
Oh Carol our posts crossed well I was faffing about copying and pasting etc. Wow so you liked Kali (?sp) too. I don’t think they sell it now - elf and safety no doubt. I have seen sherbert fountains though they are no the same thing. Love and night night Jackie
Good morning ladies,
I loved shebert dips and those pink shrimps. It was in the days when we didn’t have men from India on the phone, no mobiles or computers, no bc either !! And we managed very well.
Sandra, good to have you back, my kitchen man sounds better than your man from India. Did your grandson like his pirate stuff ?
Carol, I would have your English man come back and put in a dvd reader if I were you, but I suppose you would have to ask the man from India to send him, might be complicated.
Jackie, sorry your abscess is not better, hope you manage your bbq
Heather, Where are you ? sleeping at last, I hope. Try a farmer under the duvet, it works for Isabelle.
I’m off out for an English Brunch with some Swiss friends who are fans of GB, we may even speak in English to get the atmosphere right, the restaurant is run by an English couple, so its sausage, egg and chips for me with mushrooms and what ever else they throw in. Later I’m picking up son’s girlfriend who is staying a week. Son is arriving very late tonight, and will be home for 2 months !! I’ve got people to look after me for a while.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday
Sunny hugs Maria
Good morning everyone, managed to sleep till 2am so at least I wasn’t up all night. I am going to try to get to see my own doctor next week, he knows me. I know the other doctors have my record but you can’t expect them to look right back. I have only ever really seen the one doctor since we moved here and he has helped me a lot, trying to sort out medication etc.
Had to laugh when I read Carol’s posts about Kaylie, me and hubby where talking about it the other night, he had never heard of it, he called it sherbert. I use to love eating kaylie by dipping my finger in and see it change colour. There are loads of names I use for different things that him and his kids had never heard of. They didn’t know what pop was, and I dont know if you ladies have heard of hokey, that was what we use to call icecream. I rember being on holiday and my mum saying to us “if your good you can have an hokey later” this lady lent over and said “could you tell me what an okey is”. We always get confused with cobs and rolls, the bread variety, we call them cobs, hubbys family call them rolls, so when I am talking to my family its cobs, when I am talking to hubbys family its rolls.
Sandra, its really good to see you back, were changing our internet next week were going to go with BT, just hope it changes over ok. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday, it is my youngest grandsons birthday at the end of next month. I have been searching the internet for inspiration. Mum said he wants some lego, so going to look at that first. I have to laugh, when my DIL was expecting my son rang me and said “mum when we have had the baby do you think when you buy birthday and christmas presents you could give him money instead because we dont want him to have loads of things he doesn’t play with”. But I said no, I am grandma and thats what we do. Anyway from when he was born that idea went out of the window, I have never seen so many toys lol I very often remind him what he asked me to do, and he says" yes mum I know". Their buying things all the time it is really hard to know what to buy him. My Mum wouldn’t let me have gob stoppers incase I choked, and I couldn’t have Glacier fruits, she called them slippy down sweets and she thought I would swallow them. My daughter still wont eat them now,she will refuse them saying “oh no cant have slippy down sweets” lol
Carol, no I dont use niger seed, what are they ? now you come to say about Gold finches I have only ever seen a couple in our
garden. I love the proms Carol, I cant miss last night of the proms, and I sit there crying my eyes out lol I do love musicals, I sing along and hubby laughs because my words are never the same has theres but they always fit in to the tune. Talking about horses have any of you heard about the west end prodution called “War Horse” I hadn’t heard of it but now I really want to see it. It is a story about a horses used in the first world war I think. What amazed me where the horses, there all puppets, and they are just like real horses, I looked it up on you tube and I only got an a small preview, but oh boy I sobbed. Hubby said Speilberg is making a film about it, so I bet that will be fantastic, and I will cry all the way through, I still sob when ET has to go home lol
Maria, yes I am a bit like Frank Spencer lol I probably have done more daft things then him. Hey perhaps they could make a sit com about me, cant think what they would call it, any ideas ladies what my sit com should be called lol Glad your curtains are up and your evening went ok. Have you only got one peachy left now ? hope so, hopefully then you will start to feel a bit stronger mentally.
Anne, why have you not been and shown the doctor your red breast, you really should let somebody see it. It was lovely to see my daughter, I really missed her when she was away. There going on the broads again next year and they want us to go with them. Hands up anybody who thinks I will be safe going on a boat on the broads lol
Jackie, just read your post about BT broad band, hope we dont have the same problem, probably I would be better to ring you or Sandra, rather than some idian I can never understand. I am sorry they have not sorted out you abcess yet, I bet you are fed up of it, it must be weeks now. No I didn’t have to squash the air bags in the car, they did that somewhere else. It was bad enough working the machine to sew them. I was working one Saturday night on overtime and there was such a bang they heard it all over the factory. I had smashed the plate that you had to put under the machine and I had broke it. What made it worse it was Saturday night and there wasn’t any engineers working ooopppss. I am still doing an impression of a night Owl, I dont hoot though lol
Well everyone hope your all having a good weekend, the weather is awfull here. I hope those of you on holiday are having a good time, and I hope Karen had a great time last week.
Take care everyone,
Love Heather,
xxxxxxxx
Heather, you might not hoot but you ARE one! how about a sitcom called Calamity Heather, on a musical theme, you could sing “Whip crack away” as the intro. I have heard of War horse and would love to see the show. I would love to see The Lion King too because of how it’s done. we call rolls baps here, what about muffins of the oven bottom variety, don’t think they have those down south. Havn’t heard of Hokey. my kids had tons of Lego, it’s never gone out of fashion.
Niger seed or Thistle seed is very yiny blck seeds, you have to buy a special feeder, but put them up and you will get your Goldfinches.
Maria, a bit late now to get anyone from Dell as it’s not under guarantee now and I could do without the stress!
Hope you have anice brunch, I have just had my scrammbled eggs and big mushrooms. Make the most of being looked after, you deserve it!
Jackie, we get a spotted woodpecker in our garden now and again. I read somewhere that red kites are getting to be a nuisance. we see loads when we go up to scotland. We are a bit over run with tommies, I made a batch of sauce last night for pasta, any more ideas? hope you get your abcess sorted soon, sounds like a nightmare.
off to the allotment later if it ever stops raining!
have a good day
