Hello all ?
I had my lumpectomy yesterday and obviously sore, tired and emotional. I won’t get my result from the operation for two or three weeks and I’m fearing the worse ?
Really could do with some advice from someone
Hi Scooby,
This is a really stressful time waiting on results after your op, have you any information from your biopsy about what type or grade you may have? Try not to let your mind run ahead too far, take things one stage at a time and only deal with the information you have and don’t focus on what might be as you will send yourself batty and it won’t do you any good, I’ve been there and I can speak from experience! If you go to the just diagnosed thread there is a very active group including me who will be able to give you tons of support and advice , you can search in the white box in top right hand corner Xx Jo
Thanks so much xxx
Oh I’m not familiar with yours either! What is it called? What treatment did you have? Xx
I will have a look at that. How did you find radiotherapy? Had it spread to your lymph nodes? Xxx
Yes my biopsy said lymph nodes that they checked were ok but obviously the sentinel node checks them all. I know what you mean they are they to trap the cancer rather than it spreading, just thinking my treatment would be different if lymph nodes weren’t clear. I think anyway. Not sure I’m prepared for that.
My minds gone into overdrive ??xx
I know its all too much info isnt it!! As they expect you to have no invasive cancer then your nodes are highly likely to be clear and even if invasive- mine was - it can still be the case, dont let yourself think about worst case scenarios, stick to the facts you have which all look very positive Xx
?X Do you mind me asking why chemo wasn’t recommended for yours? Did they mention it?
You can ask me anything, mine was grade 1 stage 1 and with no spread to nodes and clear margins so at a low risk of reaccurance and chemo not needed xx
As hard and upsetting as it must have been for you that diagnosis is one of the better ones isn’t it. Without sounding rude there.
They said mine isn’t usually graded but after the operation it will be staged? I think that’s what they said. X
Yes i felt very lucky after all the initial shock as i know how much worse things could have been, if yours remains insitu then its the earliest stage you can get so your prognosis will be excellent xx
Fingers crossed its still insitu, it was on first diagnosis but don’t know now x
Even if it isnt then you will still be ok, i am! Xx
Thank you ?I remember them saying if it’s invasive it’s still highly treatable ?x
2 or 3 weeks ??too flippin long! X
Yes I think they are sending me an appointment date in the post but will be delayed because of Easter ?x
