Hi all.
First time posting.
My chemo was cut short by one cycle as I developed a really nasty autoimmune disease which showed as massive blisters on my lower leg. Was hospitalised due to the infection mainly, they took a biopsy, burst the blisters and I am now home nursing some very nasty open wounds and on 6 weeks of steriods
… silver lining is… NO MORE CHEMO! Onto radiotherapy next, continuing with herceptin injections till Jan 2027, radiotherapy soon and the dreaded letrozole for 5-10 years!!!
My question is actually about hair growth, all this going on and I just want a hairline back! My last chemo was 4 weeks ago, I am seeing the baby fuzz… when am I likely to see proper hair?
Thanks all xx

Hi @mabel806 sorry to hear about your legs that must have been painful, but glad you are home and recovering.
It is amazing how quickly it will suddenly come in, I take a photo every saturday and you can see it changing every 7 days, so recommend that as makes you feel so much better at about it. My last chemo was the 13th Feb, the 11th April photo was so sparce and then 18th April im suddenly starting to fill out and ever since its just been sprouting like cress lol below is the 11th April and 16th May:

I finished chemo on 4th January 2024. A little fuzz came in the first couple of months. By the beginning of April it was definitely growing well. (I just looked back at some Facebook photos I had). By the summer I had a full head of hair.
My hair normally is straight, but the first new hair that grew back was very curly. Chemo curls seem to be a known thing, but I don’t know if everyone gets them. Eventually my hair grew straight again. It was like growing out a perm.
