Endometriosis and Breast Cancer

Hi

I have recently been diagnosed with bilateral er+8/8 breast cancer a mixed invasive ductal and lobular 3.3cm tumour in the left breast and DCIS 1.7cm currently but having a second WLE on Friday as they did not get clear margins.
I have a long history of endometriosis diagnosed in my twentys and I am now 50 I last saw a gynaecologist in 2007 who carried out a uterine ablation and fitted a mirena coil. I had the coil removed a year ago and did not have it replaced much to my GP’s annoyance.
Over the last few months I have had a return of all the symptoms and am currently awaiting a pelvic scan to check that the endometrioma’s they found in 2010 have not grown.
I was wondering if anyone else with breast cancer also had endometriosis. I understand that tamoxifen which I have told by the surgeon will be my treatment might make the endometriosis worse and that the mirena coil is also contraindicated in breast cancer.
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

I to am concerned about endometriosis. I am 58 Grade 1 ER+ had WLE and SNB on 1st July waiting for my results on 12th July.
About 10 years ago was sterilised and the surgeon then asked me if I had suffered any problems as endometriosis had been spotted during my operation. Unfortunately I couldn’t really say because I had up that point had been fitted with a coil - very hard to tell where the pain was coming from.
Having read about the hormone drugs I am seriously concerned about this as I understand that there can be thickening of the womb.
I am menopausal, not had a period for nearly 8 years now - and absolutely no pain or anything worrying. Does endometriosis clear up on its own? I will definitely consult with the oncologist.
Like you - if anyone in cyberspace has any info would be really grateful.
