Hi, ive been on anastrozole since last March for her2negative had a lumpectomy. Ive got vaginal atrophy so ive been adviced to take a break from the tablets for a month and then get a review from my oncologist. Do i still need to take evacal D3 prescribed vit d and calcium tablets. Thanks

Vaginal atrophy and dryness together with other menopausal symptoms are common in women who are having hormone therapy treatment like Anastrazole for breast cancer. Vaginal symptoms can often be difficult to talk about so it’s good to read that your treatment team have been able to support you with this and will review your symptoms again after a month’s treatment break.
If you’ve been prescribed a Vitamin D and calcium supplement like Evacal by your treatment team it’s important to check with your breast care nurse if you should continue taking this. They will have the details of your individual breast cancer diagnosis and can advise you on this.
