If you click on “Latest Post” link at the top left, you will now see all the latest posts excluding chit chat.
But if you still want to see chit chat in the latest posts,
Use the following link:
search.php?search_id=newposts
You can bookmark the link. Do tell other users about this link.

If you want to see only specific categories, you can use RSS feeds. There is a “how to” post here: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=20496&p=305166&hilit=rss#p305166
