Exercises

Hi can I have some help please?

I am 4 weeks post mx surgery. I developed quite a large seroma (for me) which was drained after 2 weeks and I’ve been wary of it refilling (it has a bit but not to the same size) so have been careful with the exercises…maybe too careful…as I am now worried that I won’t have the range of movement needed for radiotherapy.

I am seeing the clinical oncologist for the for the first time on Tuesday and I don’t know how quickly the treatment starts after that? What happens if I can’t get my arm into the right position? I can’t get my arm flat on the floor at any angle.

Thank you ladies. Xx

Hello lovely to hear from you.

Are you able to get your arms above your head when you are lying down?  To be honest I would have thought that as long as you are doing something it is better than nothing.

I think it is usually about 3/4 weeks after you see your oncologist that treatment starts, well that was the case with me I saw him on 22/11/16, my planning appointment was 30/11/16 and I started rads on 22/12/16.

I would not worry the rads team will be able to sort you out at your appointments so I really would not worry just keep on doing whatever you can xx
