Hi. Has anyone out there had their expander implant changed for a permanent anatomical one. How long is the op? and what are the after effects, i.e. pain, stretchability and movement, also how long off work.

I had my tissue expanders put in at the time of my bilateral mastectomy in August last year, then had them switched to permanent silicone implants in March this year. I’m going back in at the end of the month to have them changed yet again, as they are not the right size for my frame now they have settled.
I’m not working at the moment, so I can help with that, but as for pain and movement…
I wasn’t actually in that much pain afterwards, just more tightness and discomfort… I did my exercises again (like after the mastectomies) and they helped a hell of a lot.
I was only in for a couple of days after the exchange and I was kinda back up to speed a few weeks after that…
