For those ladies having a WLE and SNB I just wanted to share my experience of my op this week, I was so worried about it and there was absolutely no need. It was done on Thurs in day surgery, the hospital staff treated me like a princess. I recovered really quickly from anesthetic, with no feeling of sickness and actually felt refreshed when I woke up - presume that is the oxygen, I was taken into theatre at 2pm and I was home at 6.15pm. This was such a different experince to the op I had 30 years ago. I have been pottering about since day after op, have done all my excercises and only had to take paracetamol yesterday for twinges, nothing stronger so far. Im on day 2 & have had shower this morning, still pottering about in house and no paracetamol so far at all today. I expect when the bruising comes out I might have some discomfort but this is nothing like I expected. I get the results on 19/7 and I hate the waiting but feeling really positive.
Exactly the same as me except I could not shower because I could not have a waterproof dressing on my wounds as I am allergic to them, I think I took a couple of paracetamol on the first night but that was it. I did experience bruising but nothing too bad.
Hi I had my operation yesterday for Cavity shave already had Lumpectomy node clearance one had cancer in it, I have been ok but every time I go back for results its alway’s different, first appointment lump was 2 cams, laboratory result and it was 4cms, I am 72 years old and have been quite positive throughout this journey but when I was diagnosed it was like somebody else was telling me it took about a month for it to sink in, any way got to wait another 2 weeks for result more waiting he did say at first I wouldn’t need Chemo but don’t want it really, I am Grade 2 1 positive node , HER 2 negative Lobular Cancer, anybody on here had Chemo over 70.
