Hi, so in 2023 I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer . Hormone driven I’m now on tamoxifen . Just been for my yearly mammogram and I’ve been recalled for an ultrasound and tamosynthesis (3d ) mammogram . My nurse says all she can see on the notes is post surgery changes and try not to worry it’s unlikely to be anything sinister . However in 2023 I was told my lump was most likely benign but hey ho . Anyone been through anything similar . I’m sick of worrying all the time xxx

I had a recall from my first annual routine check up earlier this year, I had 3 weeks of scans and biopsies and it turned out to be benign. I know that given medical history they are sometimes overly cautious and will want to do thorough checks even with the slightest changes - something I am grateful for, but I absolutely agree with you, it is a constant worry and relieving diagnosis trauma. Fingers crossed for you it is just normal changes that’s been picked up on

Thank you so much for responding . I was at the clinic yesterday . I was told that an area of my breast is dense and they think it’s scar tissue . However they said to be extra careful due to history they will biopsy tissue , so they did a core biopsy and put a marker in . Need to wait two week for results , and I’m trying to be positive , but it’s never out of my mind . It’s a double edged sword . I’m so lucky I’m getting looked after , but the anxiety at times is hell xx will let you know how it goes . Thanks 🩷

100% agree and exactly what I said when I went through this earlier on in the year! I asked my radiologist at the time and she did mention it could just be hormonal changes too, but as you say they’ll want to cover everything so biopsy is the only definitive answer. Fingers crossed for you and I hope you aren’t waiting too long for the results

Hi . Just letting you know all my biopsy was clear , so the dense tissue is scar tissue . Very relieved … for now . Thanks for support and hope this will help others x
