Hi everyone,

i have just finished 6 of 6 tax,

well i ask you, bald head, rotten finger nails, ache all over and hobbling around like a 90 year old, about 2 stone over weight,heart beating in left ear again, and now to add to it all…

my right eye has started twitching…lol

i dont know whether its that noticeable to anyone else but it is quite bizarre, twitch, wink, twitch

does anyone else have this… if so do you want to join my gang!!!

Mine have always twitched when I’m very tired. Its like the muscle is doing its own thing. Could that be it for you?

Hi Liz
I remember this from when I had my last 2 sessions in July 2009. Most annoying but it does stop eventually. Weird feeling tho!

Has your hair started growing again - try rosemary shampoo - stimulates folicules - mine grew back quite quickly and thick (although grey - hadn’t seen my natural colour for years) - purple plum now and a style I wouldn’t have had before.

Try sally hansen maxium growth on your nails. Mine have just more or less got back to normal so it takes a while! You will get there.

thanks for the tips, my head is like a snooker ball, with a few fine random hairs,
my fingers feel like they have been hit with a hammer, every nail is affected, look like they have blood/bruises under the nail with white spots and ridges,

i will get the shampoo and sally hansen,

yes the twitching is weird, my little boy asked me why i was winking at him the other day lol

hi liz.i too get the sound of my heart beating in my ear and eye twitching. but i didnt have cemo. iam on tamoxifen and zoladex. so please can i join your gang xxx gaynor

yes gaybar of course you can join the gang,

but you have to master the nod, twitch and wink lol

I sometimes jerk when I’m falling asleep which wakes me up nicely. Twitch when tired and hear my heart beating in my left ear too. Very peculiar.

hi liz, i had tax and both my eyes would dance merrily,it was really obvious too,but they seen to have stopped now,had last tax in march x

last chemo 14th april and winking (twitching) at everyone all the while - very strange side effect!!!

hi everyone,

lots of us seem to have the beating heart in the left ear thing, my onc sent me for an ecg which was ok, and cut down my injections from 5 to 3 but i can still hear my heart beating away,

my eye isnt twitching so bad today, i am missing it now, how sad is that lol…

I finished Chemo just over a year ago and just recently I have had the Heartbeat in your Ear thing. The only difference is it was the right ear. Someone told me it’s to do with Blood Pressure.I have had spots in all sorts of funny places as if the gunge is trying to get out of my body!

omg i mean exactly how long does it take for the poison to be out of our body, my fingernails have started to go rotten now, every nail feels as if i have hit it with a hammer and looks like it too,

really sore, my gp said soak them in salt water, they are throbbing, its just a catalogue of ses and each one seems to get more bizare as the time goes on,

i thought i would feel ok after chemo i am now beginning to wonder…

I have this heartbeat in the ear thing but the ear specialist said that is was Tinnitus. I have learned to live with it and can “ignore” it at times. I am not on chemo right now but was n chemo 18 months ago. When it annoys me at bedtime I deal with it by puting on my earphone for the radio to block out the “noise”. It helps. Glad I am not alone but sorry to hear there are others with this problem too. val

yep quite a few of us seem to have the ‘beating heart’ good thing really when you think about it lol,

Hi everyone

Don’t know if this is the TAX but I have started to develop sore itchy eyes and red blotches above my cheekbones, no twitching yet but do I qualify to join the gang?

(also got bleeding piles but that is another story!)

Hi everyone,

Please can I join too? I switched from Tamoxifen to Femara in January this year and I have started with the heartbeat in the right ear. Only get twitching eyes when I’m really tired (which considering I can’t sleep due to night sweats is quite often I suppose).

I am almost 4 years on from dx and 3.5yrs after chemo so it’s the hormone therapy that’s done it for me.

I am on Arimidex only at the moment but I have the heartbeat in the right ear as well

I finished Tax two weeks ago and just a couple of days ago my right eye started twitching and watering uncontrollably. It’s hardly stopped since. No soreness or redness though - just peculiar!
