Eye lashes effected by tamoxifen

I had chemo 2 years ago and lost my hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. My hair and eyebrows have come back much thinner and after using UKlash serum my eyelashes were even better than before chemo. I now find my lashes fall out in large numbers and I never have a full look. I have short stubby ones with some long ones. Anyone else had this? I’ve been taking tamoxifen for 18 months and wondered if it’s related.

Not sure about eyelashes but my hair thinned quite significantly on Tamoxifen , I had a receding hairline.

My eyelashes never really fully came back after chemo and I don’t think they will ebile I’m on letrozole. They are so short I can’t use mascara. :frowning:

I do empathise with you. I had chemotherapy 8 years ago where I lost all my hair including eyebrows and eyelashes. I did not need to take tamoxifen. Like you, my hair came back thinner, my eyelashes are very short and eyebrows are sparse. I did use a lash serum (cannot remember the name) in the first few years but it did not really help. I have learnt to live with it all. Part of my daily routine is to enhance my eyebrows (eyebrow pencil) and wear some mascara when I feel I need to. I tend to go for the natural look mascaras as others are too heavy for my lashes. I do hope this helps and that you have a better outcome. All the best.

I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows after chemo (June-October) and started using UKlash when I’d finished. I don’t know how much it helped, but my lashes and brows have come back and starting Tamoxifen (November) doesn’t seem to have impacted the regrowth.

I lost most of my eyelashes and eyebrows too after having chemo 5 years ago. My eyelashes came back but my eyebrows never recovered. I got so sick of trying to draw them back in every day that I eventually (last year) got them tattooed and microbladed. It was the best thing I ever did, especially now my cancer has reoccurred. If you can afford it, it is really worth doing but go to someone who will take a lot of care to match the colours to your skin tone, age and preferences. Most of us don’t want huge black bushy eyebrows!
