Hi all
Not posted for a while, but was wondering if there are any supplements that are good for eyelash and eyebrow regrowth.
My chemo finished last July, my hair is growing fine and I do have eyebrows and lashes, but they are nowhere near what they used to be. Eyelashes are short and hard to get mascara attached to them!.. and eyebrows are very sparse and weedy!
Has anyone got any tips for fuller brows, and longer lashes. Dont like using false lashes… they just look false… and Im filling in brows with pencil, but thats not ideal either… keep forgetting and rubbing one off! lol
Hi, I’ve been trying a lash conditioner called RapidLash. It is expensive, but it is supposed to help the new growth to be healthier and stronger. People here have recomnmended it. I think it makes my lower lashes look a tiny bit darker–at any rate you can see a faint line where they are rather than nothing at all. My eyebrows were the last thing to fall out, so it’s not surprising that they don’t seem to be growing back yet, as I only finished chemo a few weeks ago.
There doesn’t seem to be as much information about lost eyebrows and lashes as about head hair, but here are a couple of snippets:
“Generally, the hair most likely to fall out is the hair that tends to grow back the fastest. The hair on the top of your head grows faster than your eyebrows or eyelashes.” breastcancer.org/tips/hair_skin_nails/regrowth.jsp
“Adequate [head] hair growth may take six months to one year.” ahlc.org/causes-c.htm
I’ve included the web addresses because you might be able to find more at these sites.
Benefit Brow Zings for the eyebrows - I was impressed with this and wish I’d got it earlier - it’s kind of waxy so sticks to your existing brows to make them look thicker. Another fellow poster on here recommended them to me as she uses them too - and she looks fab!
Ive been using rapid lash for 17weeks all through chemo and i still have lashes, just after chemo they go alittle brittle but still ok to put mascara on, one lasts for about 8 weeks, ive just bought my 3rd and hopefully my last…
My lower lashes are growing back but nearly invisible. I got a new mascara that Clinique does for lower lashes, which features a titchy brush. I find this easier to apply to my upper and lower lashes at the moment, without putting it in my eye instead. (Clinique is hypoallergenic, so shouldn’t be too damaging.) I don’t worry about length, curl or anything else, having eyelashes at all again is enough.
My eyebrows are still much lighter in colour and weight than they were before, but again having something there looks better than not.
