I don’t do Facebook.    I can’t find answer to questions around diet.  Particularly how as vegetarian to source protein that isn’t processed - eg Quorn or similar plant based chilled/frozen foods.  They would be processed wouldn’t t they and additives etc. added.    Similar with tinned items.  Chickpeas, kidney beans  baked beans etc. Surely processed.  In jars too. I’m watching everything I’m eating now to be healthier than pre BC diagnosis (and lose weight) but it’s hard knowing what’s better especially now just having started  taking Letrazole and waiting for radiotherapy  to start.  Also questions like what better for bone health - full fat plain yoghurt or low fat?  Green or plain?  Which milk?  I have osteopenia and through Forum and leaflets know impact Letrazole will likely have on my bones.   I want advice and questions answered but as I don’t Facebook who can provide specific answers to my questions.   PS I’m taking vitamin D and Calcium now.

Hi @Bluebell22

It can be hard to know what is best. If you ever want to talk things like this (or other clinical questions) through, our breast care nurses are available on our free phone Helpline 0808 800 6000. Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 4pm, and Saturdays 9am-1pm.

Sending our love,

Lucy

Thank you.

Hello, I was a bit lost with the food part after I started my chemo and I searched the net every time after I got my blood results to check what should I eat to grow my blood cells faster. I was not on any special diet but I got recommended a book by Anthony William Cleanse to Heal, Medical Medium… so I started to read and still reading but I introduced some of his recipes into my daily life and I see changes. I understand we are all different and healing in different ways so it might worth taking a look. These books are quiet expensive so maybe you can just look it up in the bookshop to see if there is anything you like.
