I’ve now finished chemo and about to embark on rads. Although the hair on my head started growing back on Tax, my eyelashes continued to get thinner and now have about 6 stumpy ones on my top lids. Really not liking the look and wondered if anyone has worn false eyelashes and has any advice, as I have never tried them before. Would really like some fairly natural definition back on my eyes. Anything to brighten up my face. An added complication is that my eyes constantly run when I go out in the cold air. Any one got any tips? Thanks x
Have you tried using eyeliner and kohl pencils to add some definition as I am definitely a mascara lady with precious little to use it on thanks to the ‘dreaded docetaxel’? My eyelashes stuck with me through FEC, but decided that they were off once they came into contact with docetaxel!!! Personally, I think that most false eyelashes are too long and false-looking at the best of times, and be careful that your eyes are not ultra-sensitive to the glues at the mo. I would hate to use them and find that when I remove them I take my remaining eyelashes too!

I found it very useful and picked up some useful tips and hints.
As for the constantly running eyes the only solution I found was to wear sunglasses as the bright sun made the tears worse. The more your eyes run, then your nose starts running too so you end up looking like the ‘snotty-nosed kid’ with red-rimmed eyes - not a good look, especially if you have attempted mascara on those 6 stumpy lashes as that will be running down your face too! My eyes stopped running after a couple of weeks - its the runny nose that now drives me mad although I have spotted some nasal hairs reappearing!!!
Happy make-over!

Thanks for the tips Maralyn and the link does work! xxx
Enjoy your day watching the demos and trying out the make-up tips. Just hope that the runny eyes don’t wash all your hard work away.
By the way, she mentions a book called ‘Why I wore lipstick to my mastectomy’ by Geralyn Lucas on one of her demos - well worth the read. You can get it on Amazon or on The Book Depository.
Happy reading and happy make-over!

Hi folks
i was advised not to use false eyelashes due to the tenderness of new lashes and the liklihood of false ones having detrimental affect of new lashes as they grew. I used the high definition NO 7 mascara which allow you to apply up to 6 layers and this worked very well to define what I had. My lashes are now quite good 6 months after TAX finishing but are much lighter than they were before so I continue to use this very good mascara. Take care all. J.
Hi ladies, i lost most of my lashes on TAX too!My daughter persuaded me to try false eyelashes, and she was great at putting them on for me, but i never managed to get the hang of it, despite some amazingly funny attempts by myself and my husband! I think if you have a special event and it makes you feel better about yourself it’s worth a go. I wouldn’t use them every day though. My eyes used to water a lot too. That got better when my lashes came back. It took a couple of months. Good luck. x
Hi I tried to use false eyelashes but they kept falling off so I used eyelash and eyebrow de instead and everyone said how it looked like I had mascara n xxx
Had a disastrous start to false eyelashes as they were too long and I felt I looked like a tranny! At the weekend I contemplated throwing them out but then I thought that I would trim them so I left them long at the outer edge and shorter towards the middle. I managed to stick them on and mighty fine they looked too ! What with the wig, drawn on eyebrows and false lashes, the only thing not false was my teeth ! They are Eyelure reusable lashes suitable for contact lens wearers. I put eyeliner on first and then the lashes. Its worth a try i think !
