Hello, my surgeon has said i probably have fat necrosis, im waiting for a ultrasound scan to check.
Its very hard and tender lump area. I have had a double mastectomy with diep reconstruction 5 months ago.
I wondered if anyone had experienced this and what the liposuction procedure is like and how long the recovery is after? Im planning on traveling abroad in August so wondering should i get it done before or after?
Hi, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had complications following your reconstruction.
I had a 2nd reconstruction and reduction on opposite side that included fat transfer from my inner thighs.
IMy legs were pretty sore post surgery and I had huge black bruises from top of my thigh to my knees, so not sure I’d have been sporting a bikini straight after! I also was walking like John Wayne for a couple of weeks until the bruising subsided. However I’m absolutely delighted with the results and it was definitely worthwhile. Hope that helps with holiday planning, you definitely deserve one! All the best with your treatment
Thank you, this has given me a better idea now!
Would you say after 2/3 weeks it was healed?
Im thinking having a few bruses and more scars is better than the hard tender breast that i have right now.
Think everyone needs a holiday after what we all have been through. Take care
I only had lumpectomy so I can’t help with recovery etc from Diep but I did get an oil cyst which occurs as a result of fat necrosis . It started off small then got bigger was hard and tender and for a couple of days painful right across to my armpit the pain then subsided slowly and the oil cyst absorbed slowly into my body - so no lump now . I have heard that they are sometimes drained . Xx
