favourite films and tv series to make us laugh

Hi ladies,

if you would like to add your suggestions for good, clean comedy viewing that would be great!

You can rate the films if you want to. One star = raises a few giggles,
Two stars = laugh out loud, three stars = side splittingly funny

There aren’t that many out there, but some of the old series are hard to beat!

The aim is an experiment to see if we think laughter is indeed the best medicine,as the proverb goes, and will help us boost our white cells during chemo!
I believe it will.

Where to start:
In order of preference:

***
Ratatouille
The simpsons movie
Stardust
Shrek 1 & 2 (and 3 a bit)
mirrormask
Monsters Inc

**
hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
Toy Story

Lovefilm does free trials, and if you do check out their comedy genre for what suits you but I strongly recommend Ratatouille and the simpsons movie.

Thanks for suggestions! I’ll be searching the market for some cheap videos next week. That’s one thing, you can get videos at knock down prices now!
There’s plenty there for us to be getting on with.
The forecast for the summer is pretty lousy so we may be glad of a good stock on the video/dvd shelf!!
Thanks, Ann
p.s. any more suggestions welcome!

Thanks, ladies.

I think when we’re feeling emotional these films will seem funnier, won’t they! You’re sort of desperate to let the emotion out, whether we choose to laugh or cry!

Joni mitchell said this in one of her songs…“laughing or crying,it’s the same release” So true.

I’m going video hunting today, on our market, but OH may have to look on second-hand market later in the week.

keep 'em coming!

oh,btw,

don’t forget to notice if watching comedy helps your neutrophil count to bounce back more quickly! Or maybe not really drop at all, even better!! And comment on that , please.

**Flushed away ( stands watching at least twice as like chicken run there is so much going on in the background)
One of my all time favourites is “Groundhog Day”
and also very funny “Adventures in Babysitting” also titled " A night on the town"( one title is American but I can’t remember which).

TV series***, I have all nine series of “I Love Lucy” and I find them side splitting but not everyone has the same taste!!!

big mommas house, only fools and horses, blazing saddles, stir crazy

Oh yes, School of Rock!

Also love Joan Cusack in Addams Family Values.

When Harry Met Sally, Miss Congeniality, anything Disney, most chick flicks…

Well, my fave movie is Something’s Gotta Give – Jack Nicolson, Diane Keaton. Funny, romantic, just nice.
