Hi Meesh, I was an hour late going in as my plan wasn’t ready but the whole thing only took 10 minutes and was nothing to worry about at all. The breath holding was ok as well, I had to do it multiple times but mostly for less than 10 seconds there was only one really long one. Good luck for later xx
Thanks Runnerbean! Just got out on my way home now. Had a 30 min delay and was then in there nearly an hour! They went through everything with me, positioned me and then had to come back and reposition me. They don’t do the breathe holding for right side. Its blummin freezing though I was trying not to shiver ?
Somehow I managed to just be in the right position on the bed so that must have saved some time. I had an air con vent right over me at the planning meeting. I was getting a bit embarrassed about my nipples but it was bloody freezing in there ?
They said they’d give me a blanket tomorrow ?

Must admit it was a cold snap today!! Radiologist even apologised for cold hands!! Told her don’t worry I’m already numb!!?? . Few spiky pains in boob today but nothing unbearable!
Meesh were you having a bit of nip poking practice on the sly? Could be handy if anyone is a ? at work. I’m going to take a blanket on Thursday, it was cold at the planning meeting so I really appreciate the tip lovely ???shi xx

Morning ladies! I have 2nd appt today and also my weekly check today. Has anyone experienced any aching in their boob after treatment? I’m not sure if mine was a bit achey last night or if it was in my head! It wasn’t bad but I was just aware of it. I’ll mention it when I go today. I must remember my moogoo stuff too, better go and put that out now so I don’t forget!

I’ve had the odd twinge and ache in it throughout chemo but this was slightly different. ?
Also meant to say thank you Jaxxi for the reminder about water. Apart from a cup of herbal tea in the morning and at night I only really drink water and loads of it.

Im 10/15 finished.
Have had some grumbly discomfort/ pains intermittently, but nothing memorable. Had 2 big episodes of tiredness, but weekend off has helped. Must admit skin is now getting dryer, itchy and tender in last 24 hours.
Glad to have company of friends as taxi drivers in second and third weeks. My machine is still out of action, so delay of up to an hour each visit at present, but the folks in the waiting room are all upbeat and we are beginning to recognise each other.
Off for number 11 in 30 mins ( a 3-4 hour round trip!)

Hi everyone today was my first session and I have just spent the last hour cryung my eyes out, I had my planning session ast week and they said the sessions wouldnt be as long, but today it took over an hour to get me in position. Prior to this they gave me a gown which I told them was too small (I am a size 28) and just got told to try it, so im sat in the changing room crying before ive even started, the nurse who then came in saw the state I was in and went to to get me a bigger gown (bless told me to take it home each day so I woud always have it).
I am very large busted does this make a difference to how long it takes them to set it Up.
Sorry for ranting just dreading the next fourteen sessions now.

Hi Magicmaria, my first appointment yesterday also took about an hour. It took them ages to get me in the right position, they took the x-ray, left the room to do the treatment and then had to come back in to adjust me as they weren’t happy with my positioning. I would prefer them to take their time than rush it and mess it up. I was blummin freezing though. Today was much quicker I was in and out in 20 mins and that included getting dressed and undressed. I’m sure yours will be the same tomorrow.

Started my rads today using deep inspiration breath hold technique, 1 down 18 to go! Feeling OK but have an aching boob this evening has anyone else had this after the first session. I will mention it to them tomorrow, but just wondered if it is normal. xx
Hi Roma, welcome the ???sunbed rads lounge! I had my first session yesterday and had an achey boob last night. I asked about it today and they said it is normal it could partly be the treatment and partly the position they put you in.
Are you having boosters? I’m having 15 normal and 5 boosters!
