Hi, I’m the first here just had my assessment and bloods and start TC chemo 4 cycles every 3 weeks, as an adjuvent treatment following a single mastectomy in Dec, Onco score was 27 so here i am! I officially start on the 29th Jan so thought I’d be better in the Feb group. I was originally down for a DIEP reconstruction but during a ct scan they discovered i also had kidney cancer! Unrelated im just unlucky with 2 primaries, so chemo first then kidney op and then radiotherapy.
Hi, I found out today that I’ll be starting my chemo week beginning 16th Feb. I’ve already had a single mastectomy and am delaying reconstruction. I had a 60mm invasive ductal cancer, an area of high grade DCIS and 6/17 lymph nodes were positive. It was grade 2 stage 3 so even though they removed everything they need to treat aggressively against reccurance. I’m also waiting for the results of a CT scan. I’m very nervous about this.
Current plan is EC-T all on dose dense 2 weekly cycles but with some existing health conditions and a recent allergy, my consultant needs to go back to the MDT and cardiology and neurology.
Bless you, the waiting is an absolute nightmare isn’t it, hopefully we can all use this forum for some support for each other ![]()
Hi, Thanks for kicking things off.
.
I got diagnosed at the end of October after finding a small lump. Since then I’ve Had two lumps and 2 lymph nodes removed. Three surgeries in total until they got clear margins, which I wasn’t expecting.
I start Chemo on the 6th Feb. 4 x EC, 4 x Paclitaxel.
@ariella Sorry to hear your dealing with 2 types of cancer at once. That’s a lot x
Hi everyone. I thought I would pop on as I get my results Wednesday.
I had 2 x grade 1 tumors (42mm and 15mm) 70mm DCIS and 2/14 positive lymph nodes. Im her2 negative and HR plus. Everuthing has been removed. I know I have got to have hormone treatment. My letter says radiation and chemo is up for discussion
Not sure what to expect and rather worried about chemo.
These groups will be a lifeline.
Hi @vizsla_mum can i ask if both your lumph nodes were positive and what grade cancer did you have. I hoping for as few cycles as possible and I see your having 8
Hope your well
A very anxious Samantha
Hi @2kittens can I ask how many cycles you are having if you dont mind xx
Hope your well
I’m having 8 cycles, currently 4 x EC & 4 x T but waiting for confirmation due to existing health quirks/conditions
@2kittens thank you. I find out tomorrow but hoping for as few cycles as possible with the tumor being grade 1.
Thank you for reply. Hope your ok x
@ariella hope you are well.
Treatment this week….how are you feeling?
I hope you dont mind me asking I noticed you said you are having 4 cycles. I am hoping for as few as possible. Can I ask what grade cancer were you and did you have any lymph nodes.
Sorry as well that your dealing with twice as much xxx
Hopefully we can all be here for each other x
Hi @sammy75 mine was grade 2 and no lymph involvement, I was originally told non invasive and grade 1 but this changed once I had my mastectomy apparently it was very long and a T3, im having 4 cycles of TC as an adjuvent treatment as my cancer has now gone with the mastectomy.
I have had NHS physio today 9 weeks post mastectomy and it feels amaze! Picc line in tomorrow, dreading it!
Did you get told that it was going off for the OncotypeDX?
@ariella thank you so much for replying.
I get treatment plan tomorrow. I just dont want loads of cycles as im scared about chemo. Ive already had 3 months off work as had 3 surgeries
aiming to be back at work by August.
Like you all of my cancer has been removed hence I was hoping to skip with it being grade 1. But have 2 lymph nodes
Hope picc goes well tomorrow you will have to let me know how it goes as you will be a few weeks ahead of me. Will be asking for tips about what you take with you ect….
Thank you for reply. Hope we can all be here for each other x
Of course, let us know how you get on tomorrow xxx
@ariella I will. Im a nervous wreck xx
Hi @sammy75. I had 2 positive lymph nodes. And of the two lumps, one was grade 1 and one was grade 3. I was hoping to avoid chemo, but the lymph nodes swung it unfortunately.
No they havent said anything about that test. I am going to ask tomorrow as I was given an NPI score of 3.48!!
What’s an NPI score?
