I second that :cold_face::cold_face:.

If anyone is into podcasts (i like to listen to them when I’m walking or driving) this might be of interest. There are loads out there about BC and I’ve only listened to a few of this one but I think they’re sensible and useful. So Now I’ve Got Breast Cancer - Podcast - Apple Podcasts

On my follow list, the new series has recently started. The Breast Cancer Now Podcast is worth a listen to as well.

Hi all. I’m having a bit of a rough time, bearing in mind it’s my first cycle. I’m on my 4th lot of anti sickness pills that dissolve in between the top lip and gum. I’ve stopped being sick thank god, but need to build up some strength again. I’m obviously worried about the next cycle as I’ve been so poorly. Has anyone else had days and days of sickness?

My skin is also bleeding on my face in places and feels thin in places and very rashy and raised !

@sammy75 , please let us know when you get home. Bless you xx

So sorry to hear this - there’s nothing worse than sickness, so physically and mentally draining. I’ve been on a diet of really boring but comforting food - anything with flavour gives me chronic acid, so I’m on porridge, banana, potatoes, pasta, cheese. I sometimes get a craving for broth like miso soup.

Dreaming of a Thai curry when my body can tolerate it - maybe by Christmas

That all sounds rubbish for you @angepange1.

I’ve not had much sickness thankfully. Or skin issues.

Do you not think the anti-sickness meds are working for you? Could you try alternatives?

Mostly my symptoms have been fatigue, nausea and complete lack of motivation to do anything! Which is so not like me and is pissing me right off.

I’ve got another 6 rounds to go and it’s a thought atm!

Not showing off…..but I had a curry last night. If was delicious :face_savoring_food:

I had a really sore tongue for first time round. But have been using bicarb/salt/water mouthwash this time and my tongue has been OK.

Mt nausea is better when I have something to eat. Feel like I’m gonna be the size of a house by the end of this

Trying not to worry to much about food to be fair. We have enough going on.

Hi @angepange1 sorry to hear you’re having these symptoms, are you having EC every 2 weeks or every 3? I would tell your BCN about the sickness and looking to get some different tablets, I have domperidone which works well, but may be trial and error to find one that works for you. In my case I wasn’t ever sick but extremely nauseous after my first cycle, so second cycle I took the medication from day 1 for about 3 days and was a lot better. I also haven’t had the skin issue but against definitely chat to your BCN/oncologist and they should be able to prescribe some special creams/steroids for your skin. Hope things improve soon x

@angepange1 so sorry to hear this. I can’t help much as I’ve been so lucky with my side effects :crossed_fingers:. I would definitely endorse asking for different anti sickness meds and skin treatment. There are many different ones they can give you and we must ask for them. Also have you tried ginger? Not just teabags but ginger shots (Sainsbury’s has a bottle of 7 ginger shots in its chiller section on offer atm). Anything ginger really. The other thing is if you can’t keep anything down at all and are not getting nutrients that you need you can try something like Huel (which I can’t comment on as never had it) or for a cheap and easy option Complan. I know it’s a different situation but when I was pregnant with my son (26 years ago!) I was sick several times daily, lost over half a stone and was only days from being hospitalised. I started drinking plain Complan and it helped me turn a corner. It’s cheap and easy to find. Just a thought. Really hope you start feeling better soon :crossed_fingers::heart:

I’m so sorry to hear this, that sounds horrendous. I hope your team can find the right meds for you. I’ve only experienced nausea & fatigue so far.

My bloods have come back ahead of cycle 3 of EC on Thurs. The injections look to have done their job, my white cell count is 3.39 which is decent. Appointment with the oncologist tomorrow.

Did your cycle go ahead last week @sam1204 ?

Yes it did - I managed to raise my neutrophils to a massive 1.59 :joy:. My overall WBC is fine, it’s just the neutrophils. I’ve had no side effects at all this week (had paclitaxel and herceptin). Apart from hair loss and bloody nose of course. Blood test again on Wednesday so we’ll see what that shows. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

I don’t think mine would have raised much without the injections. Glad you’re feeling OK. I had a ā€œnormalā€ week last week, felt great. Fingers crossed cycle 3 is not too bad.

That’s great @trixie17. I am really appreciative of the good days too .

Today’s is my first really good day since 2nd round. Means I’m feeling rubbish for ten days out of Fourteen though which is a bit shit!

For ladies who are in 3rd or 4th EC. Do you find the side effects cumulative or the same as round 1 or 2?

I have felt worse for longer on 2nd compared with first round? Interested to know if round a three or four will be worse or same

( Appreciate were all Individual, just curious on others experience)
