loved Diana, broke my heart when she died,
i think we all should be proud of out Royal’s i know i am,its somethink we must keep hold of.
of to start watching it nowwww
xx
We are away in our caravan ( booked before the wedding ) that’s why it’s properly raining.
We’ve got flags flying, tv set, cupcakes made, and granddaughter has her crown. Bring it on. This wedding has really lifted my spirits. And I wish them both a wonderful life together.
In anticipation BD
I’ll be celebrating with my first dose of FEC. I’d much rather be at home in front of the telly. I’m ambivalent towards the Royal family but the Queen does her job brilliantly. Can’t say the same for some of the ‘minor’ royals though. I’d love to be watching as it’s so true that no other country does anytning like this half as well. A bit of pomp and ceremony and soldiers parading instead of getting killed or maimed for a change is welcome. They’re a disfunctional family, like most of us, but times are changing and the royals are changing too. W&K obviously love it other, you can see it in their faces and thanks be that he’s been allowed to marry for love not other more traditional reasons.
The economic aspect is more complicated than not spending on royal wedding = more money for hospitals. How many people every year don’t turn up for appointments wasting vast amounts of money? How many people would rather have more money to take home to buy sweat shop products than pay an extra penny on tax to help the NHS? How much food do we chuck away every week. All too complicated for my brain. There’s a lot wrong with the world but a joyous occasion does unite people in a positive way. Think of the flack if they’d gone to Las Vegas to get married.
Morning all
Glad we’ve moved on from the ‘grumpy old women’ type comments. Let’s just enjoy, I’ll watch a bit on telly later on. They seem to be genuinely in love and hey, let’s be happy for others. It may make me forget about bc for a bit whilst watching the dresses, foreign royal and all those camping out to watch a glimpse of the couple.
In terms of not enough money for the NHS (I agree) but also find single issue debates difficult as so many aspects, socio economic and national issues would need to be taken into consideration. Why not abolish foreigh aid? Other European countries have chosen to cut foreign aid during these tough economic times. Why are we sending child benefit payments abroad to support parents & children who do not live in the UK? Delighted that parts of the NHS have started to phase out funding for homeopathy. Yes, why not increase taxes by a penny to help out the NHS - I like that idea hipchick! Sorry for my rant; I can think of so many things where we could allocate funds more effectively and effciently…

Hi ladies
I must admit that I’ve been quite looking forward to the wedding- moreso because I really didn’t expect to be around to watch it, when it was announced a few months back. I think it’s a nice change to be bombarded with positive, happy images in the media. I agree alot of money has been spent on the wedding but I’m sure it is bringing even mre cash in with tourism etc. There is lots of unjustified spending in this country that makes my blood boil (footballers wages, excessive immigration etc) but I feel this wedding is a good thing + I’m looking forward to it ![]()
enjoy those of you tuning in !!

Perfectly happy to admit i am really enjoying it! Beats throwing up after fec1 this time last year!
I had not planned to watch it but I have now been sitting here for the last 2 hours totally engrossed with the whole event. I am not religous but even I am feeling uplifted by the hymns and the way everyone is joining in with the celebrations.
Lovely ceremony and what a beautiful dress. Wishing them lots of happiness, they deserve it! Better than listening to bad news/tragedies like we have been recently…
Beautiful wedding, its so nice to have something to celebrate. I only hope our wedding in 7 weeks is as nice, just need to get past my appointment with Specialist/Oncologist next Thursday.
Hi, Enjoyed watching everyone go in to the Abbey, then we had to leave for radiotherapy. Just got back and will watch the ceremony we recorded. Hope your wedding is as lovely Saphy.
Wonderful wedding! I’ve been doing my usual silly thing of crying through bits of it. Lovely dresses…just fantastic.
Loved it all, 10 people on my little caravan opened a bottle champagne to toast them and had a buffet too.I have had a wonderful morning, she looked stunning. It’s a real good feel factor, got a big grin on my face.
Must admit I enjoyed it. They are a very cute young couple x
Hi all on here!
Certainly, the Royal Wedding has been a morale-boosting occasion for the country and children have been enjoying it, as I did during the Silver Jubilee and Charles and Di. wedding. There was a nice holiday atmosphere when I was in town yesterday too. Surely that is a good thing for us all and will ultimately bring in tourism and revenue to Britain - as will the Olympics next year - we’ve booked our tickets! - fingers crossed! I’m no great Royalist, but it is nice to witness an historic event. I’m so sorry about the mother and little boy LG mentioned and hope they can get some treatment, but do we ban everything which can enrich our lives for the sake of cancer funding? It is a tricky question and I’m very good at sitting on fences! Anyway, enjoyed the bits I saw - liked the Aston Martin they used after the reception. Will be opening some champagne and stuffing in some of William’s fave. choc. fridge cake - recipe on Blue Peter this week!
Hope you all have a lovely long weekend!
Love, Sarahx
I didn’t plan on watching it to be honest, but kind of got drawn in. She looked stunning (well they both looked great), beautiful dress and I’m a little bit jealous of her lovely long locks (compared to my Pat Sharp post-chemo hair!).
Definately a morale booster. xx
Nope - not fed up!
I had a lovely day with friends watching a lovely couple get married and hope they have a happy life together, no I don’t want to know any more about them.
It meant I didn’t think about BC all day - great!
Now, what can I do tomorrow so I don’t think about BC?
Love
Helen
It was the first day for a while where I actually forgot completely that I had cancer and was back to my ‘old normal’ self. I was transported for those few hours back into thinking about something else other than the constant background ‘cancer’ drone in my head. I found the whole day very uplifting. I don’t for one minute think that the monies spent on the wedding would ever have been put aside for cancer treatments or research - the world aint like that. Good luck to Will and Catherine and thank you for giving me a cancer-free day!!
Sue xx
I agree, was the first day in ages I forgot about bc, & thats got to be good. It was a lovely day with wounderful dresses & hats, I for 1 hope they will be very happy.
