Almost 3 weeks since mastectomy and implant reconstruction. Results from sentinel node biopsy in 2 days. Today I’m just feeling rubbish. Fed up with wearing bra which irritates. Fed up with numb/sensitive boob. Fed up with saying I’m “ fine”. Just want to curl up and feel sorry for myself!!
Welcome. Sorry you’re fed up. If you’re going to be fed up then this is the best place to come and vent. We all get it. Vent as much as you like. xxx
Hi @jo0501
It’s all a load of horrible rubbish isn’t it? Feel free to vent. You are in the best of places with people who’ve been there, done that, worn the crappy bra and wanted it to all go away because we’ve been thoroughly and utterly fed up.
One day it will - I promise. Don’t say you’re fine, if you don’t know the person asking after you to say it as it is, say that you’re bearing up. They were my most used words during my diagnosis, mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy. I even said things like: “It’s rather grotty (ever that polite though) but I’m bearing up.” It actually makes for a better conversation.
Curl up by all means - as a reward, after some fresh air or doing your exercises, or doing something gentle to take your mind off you for a bit eg tidy that kitchen junk drawer.
And come back here to let off steam whenever you like.
Love AnGELa xx
I remember this feeling all too well! I was on cloud 9 once I’d finally had my op just knowing they’d removed the tumor but as time went on I just got fed up then like you say the numbness alone is so annoying and mine stung if I moved to fast, I felt like I’d lost a little bit of myself because I couldn’t do all the things I used to, annoyed because I couldn’t sleep how I used to and let’s face it, it really is shit and unfair that we have to go through it. But this will pass, you will continue healing and hopefully once you get your results it will perk you up and you can move on to what’s next. Do what you need to feel better and if that’s curling up in a little ball for the morning you do that, then get up and remember how far you’ve come.
Sorry you’re feeling crap, you’re in the right place to vent because we get you. Sending lots of love ![]()
