Feel good factor DVDs

I’ve had some low moments after my 2nd cycle this time and on Friday decided to watch a feel good factor film.  We have a lot of DVDs, but I wanted to watch something that made me smile and laugh, so first I watched ‘Willow’, then ‘Donovans Reef’, followed by the ‘Great St Trinians Train Robbery’ then finished up with ‘Blith Spirit’.

Being stuck indoors is bad enough when you feel unwell, but they really gave me a lift both physically and mentally. So I’ve decided to watch one dvd every evening, so I go to bed feeling amused.

Any ideas for feel good factor films, without the emotional sad bits?

Mamma Mia - and sing along ! Legally Blonde always cheers me up too .

With Christmas nearly upon us what about Scrooge - the Alistair Sims version? I’ve got a remake where colour has been added to it. Or a musical version maybe? I am thinking about audio books - anyone got ideas about that?

I like Lucy Diamond books - particularly tke Beach Cafe - always interesting and positive endings. Beach cafe set in Cornwall .

Not films (too much concentration needed) but lots of repeats of New Tricks and Lovejoy.

How about “A Christmas Story” with Peter Billingsley and “Raising Arizona” both hilarious. Btw, great thread idea.

We have the Frasier box set - I find it good when I want something funny that doesn’t take too much concentration.

If you have Netflix, I recently watched the series “Anne with an ‘E’”, based on Anne of Green Gables, I found it so cute and uplifting :relaxed:

Netflix also has “Friends” and “How I met your mother”, again good if you want something easy to watch to take your mind off things, it also has a lot of David Attenborough documentaries if you want something with a soothing voice.

I listen to a lot of podcasts too - “Sleep with Me” is a good one to help you fall asleep if you’re having trouble with a racing mind, also “Meditation Oasis” has lots of good meditations to help relax and clear the mind.
