I had a vacuum breast biopsy today to get.more tissue out to test. Omg the pain now is unbearable! I had a titanium clip fitted too so I didn’t need to come back for another one. The woman who did the biopsy and the nurse were so good as i was very shaky and cold afterwards!! Had to also have another mammogram aswell so it was a good job that my breast was numb! Results should be in by next week! Felt very drained when I came home and even had a sleep which is unlike me as I normally cant relax! Xx
Hi Queenbee,I found the core biopsy worse than the actual operation in terms of pain and discomfort.Its quite brutal .
I had the core biopsy on my initial first examination and thought it wasnt too bad. But this time the pain is alot worst… not sure if its because I’ve already been poked and prodded. The woman said i will bruise worse with this one than I did the other! X
Miserable ,hope it improves soon if not ring GP and see if they can give you some more powerful painkillers.
I was diagnosed on 22nd March! I am 37 and have 3 children 13, 10 and 4. I’m still in the middle of testing what type of cancer i have as unaware if the mass is more invasive cancer or DSIC had a vacuum biopsy today to get more tissue to test! X
The initial “limbo land” is very ,very hard ,very stressful and anxiety provoking .It does get a lot easier when you know what exactly you are dealing with and what happens next .Fiingers crossed for the best possible outcome .Jill.
Hi I had a vacuum biopsy over 3 weeks ago and still a little sore though not as bad. I 2 core biopsies previous to that and they were a breeze in comparison. My breast was still bruised of the core biopsies when they done mine so the aneseathic didn’t work not only once bit twice the pain was horrific! That machine has definitely been invented by a man! I did see on chatting to you on a previous post you were due to have this I debated telling you how painful it was but didn’t want to scare you! On a plus note my bcn has informed me that vacuum biopsy is worse than any operation i will have. So sounds like we may have got through the worst already…hopefully! X

Thank you for all you replies… paracetamol helped at first but once the numbness wore off it hasnt! last night I woke at 3am in pain… i coukdnt get back to sleep after that and ibropfen nor paracetamol are helping. I have an appointment at my gp to see if they can prescribe some stronger painkillers! I’ve had to go out and buy a sports bra/top as a bra is making it worse! X
I bought like a soft crop top type bra from Asda and still wearing it now. Was the only think I could find any comfort in. X
Also the tape/sticky stuff they put on is irrating me aswell but cant take it off for 5 days!! X will have a look in asdas when pop later on x
