Fibroadenoma sudden change

Hi, I got diagnosed with a single fibroadenoma in my 20’s after having my first child. I’ve always been able to feel it and it’s been smooth and oval shaped and moveable when pressed. Suddenly at the age of 39 I can feel a small pea sized lump on top of it and possibly another lump on the edge of it (upper outter quadrant of left breast). I have a referral to the breast clinic but just wondering if after so many years this is normal for a sudden change? I should mention a few months ago I randomly had bleeding from the nipple that went away after a few days. I’m struggling to find information online about changes to fribroadenoma’s. Any advice greatly appreciated thank you. (Just to add I have an appointment tomorrow at the breast clinic).

I don’t know if fibroadenomas can change but you are definitely heading to the right place tomorrow. Hopefully you will get some idea of what is going on. Waiting is a tense time I know. Do let us know how you get on.

Hoping for a simple outcome and sending hugs

Thank you Eily,

I’m just glad the waiting will be over today. I’ve had a lot of health anxiety recently and then this came out of the blue. I rarely take myself to the gp but just knew this wasn’t something I should ignore with young children to think of. I will keep you updated and let you know how it goes.

Thank you again xxx
