Hi I’m 17, last month I went to the doctor becuase I found a lump on my left breast, he felt it and referred me to a breast clinic, so after they got back to me offering me an appointment to have an ultrasound scan I went. And she said I had a fibroadenoma, she then said they’d like to see me agian in a couple of weeks so I went back 2 weeks later to a more clearer ultrasound scan and he said I’ve got more than one lump but there nothing to worry about becuase of my age, I have just received a letter asking me to go back for the third time in 5 months! But the one I could feel in the first place is getting bigger and painful, should I go back there or just leave it a couple of months? I have a family history of breast cancer so that kind of worries me abit. Also I found another lump on my right breast now and that’s painful and sore now. I don’t know what to do?!

hi jellybeans
at your age BC is very rare even if you do have a family history.
but i would say if you have developed something new then its prob best to contact the breast unit or go back and see your GP.
fibroadenomas are very common particularly when there are lots of hormonal changes like after puberty or the menopause…
but please do mention any changes before your next appt… and its good they are keeping a close eye on you although i know how stressful appointments and scans can be.
let us know how you get on xx
