Fibroadenomatoid Change? Anyone?

Hi everyone,

I have just been diagnosed with the above after having triple assessment for large, lumpy mass in left breast. I am 49 and probably pre-menopausal. The mass is hard, wide and includes all different shaped concrete feeling lumps.

The core biopsy results revealed the fibroadenomatoid change.

My questions include why is there such little information on this condition out there?

Is there another name for it as there is hardly anything on the net anywhere?

After weeks of stress and with this unwanted large, hard guest in my body, obviously while I am relieved it is nothing more sinister, I am left wondering if there is anything that needs to be done about it? My anxiety has kicked in and I am seriously wondering was the biopsy correct, and what if there is something underneath it.( I also have extremely dense breasts so don’t trust mammo)

I was sent away from the clinic (after being back and forth for weeks) and told to be ‘breast aware’ - as if I am not already hyper-vigilant! I can’t help but wonder how one can be breast aware in the future with all this lumpiness already there.

Any experience/advice appreciated.

Love to all and thanks in advance, Mic

Ps It is not an fibroadenoma apparently ‘fibroadenomatoid change.’
