I have two different types of breast cancer in one breast. I finished four rounds of chemo and am now on number seven of twenty sessions of radiation therapy. I have had Fibromyalgia for many years, but never too severe. The past three days feel like the worst episode of Fibromyalgia ever possible. All my muscles hurt all over. Is it possible that radiation has triggered this extreme reaction?
No one can answer that question for sure here but chemo and radio side effects can be plentiful and very unique. Perhaps call up the clinic and ask? And I’m so sorry you’re in such pain. I have a friend with fibromyalgia and know it can be debilitating.
Thank you so much for your comment. I’ll definitely ask my Radiation doctor about it.
Oh no, that sounds horrid. I hope you pick up soon.
I have fibro too (and M.E. and a few other AI-type illnesses) so I feel your pain!! I’ve been warned that Rt can have whole body side-effects so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that’s the cause of your flare. Just being on the table for my planning/scan session caused me to struggle the next day or so.
I really hope you find something that helps whether that be meds, hot water bottles, hugs, or my favourite the electric blanket!
