Filgrastim jag timing?

Hey folks!

I previously asked for some help with my Mum’s filgrastim symptoms and everyone was great, there, is another question I have.

What time do people tend to do the injections? Mum has tired doing them at 6pm then at 9pm. Neither seem to work just right. If she took them at 6pm, she found she was tired really quickly, then the 9pm ones floored her completely and she struggled to get to sleep as she felt so rotten by them.

Is there a sweet spot time wise, or are just horrible no matter what time they are done?

Thanks!

I did mine in the morning in the hope that it would have calmed down by bedtime so that at least I didn’t risk losing a night’s sleep. I found taking two pills of over the counter loratidine hayfever tablets an hour beforehand (must be the loratidine type apparently although it’s not fully understood how it works) meant I had almost no symptoms from them at all and I probably had to do about 40 injections. Studies also have shown that loratidine has anti cancer activity itself and the oncologist was happy for me to take it.

Thanks, we only just found out about the loratidine recently thanks to this forum so we’re defo going to raise that with her oncology team for not flagging it sooner.
