filgrastim
filgrastim Has anyone else been given filgrastim by injection for seven days after each chemo. It is to increase my white blood cell count and my bloods on Tuesday were really healthy, I’m often anaemic but even that is better. Because I have an auto immune disease as well the Onc said without the injections I would be sure to get infections but with these that is very unlikely.

Hi Val I’ve just started a thread in the Current Issues forum about G-CSF injections.
Really pleased filgastrim is working for you.

TACT 2 Hi
I have had this as part of the TACT2 trial. I think quite a few of us are on it.
I agree they are great - I did pick up a couple of infections (a stomach bug and a bacterial infection)but they cleared up quickly and did not need any hospital admissions. Sadly I stop having them now I have finished the Epirubcin and will have have to slog through CMF without.
Good luck with the rest of treatment

Hi Val I have had 3 x FEC and 1 x Taxotere (yesterday) and have 7 daily jabs starting on day 3 after each chemo. it is Granocgte (lenograstim) . Got 2 more tax to go. My neutrophils have been pretty good so far.
Have also posted under the current issues/hot topics about this.
