I have my final (well, actually, my only!) BCN appt. I’m just over one year post surgery. I understand the appt is to formally go through your diagnosis and treatment and then discharge you from the service. I have a few questions (“is my pain normal” is the main thing.) But as this is my only chance I feel I really should be exploring anything and everything!! Of course, my anxiety has now prevented my brain from working at all - so ladies, is there anything you would suggest?
Hi ,I have continued to be reviewed yearly by my BCN since my diagnosis - it will be 5 years in May when I will be discharged .I think most hospital continue to review you yearly for the first 5 years .
Hi thurnefi- just thinking off the top of my head, and I’m sure others will come along with lots more helpful questions. Some suggestions, and you may already know the answers, but I’d check when you will have follow up check ups and mammograms in the future, and who will book the appointment as all hospitals seem to be different. Perhaps ask who you can contact if you have concerns and discuss what to keep an eye on/look out for. Is there anything that is bothering you about your treatment or diagnosis that you want answered? Take the chance to ask her, and she should follow up with a doctor if necessary.
