Finally have a date for DIEP flap

I cant believe that I finally have a date! 7th December for my DIEP flap, to say I’m relieved is an understatement, it has been such a long time since diagnosis (5th September) but now more nerves and anxiety are kicking in for the next step of this journey… im having a DMX and the surgeon has said that I might not have enough belly fat to make me what I am now (C cup,size 10/12) this doesn’t bother me that much as he did say that he can transfer fat to fill them out at a later date… has anyone else been told this and was able to get to their original size? And would anyone be willing to share before and after pictures? It would be much appreciated.

So many thoughts going through my head atm.

Bless you. It is a scary time for you.  I am in the same situation as you but a much longer wait for me,  about 2 years! I’m desperate for the operation but at the same time, I’m wondering whether I want to put myself through it. I’m 65, so by the time I’ve waited and gone through all the following ops, I’ll nearly be 70. I too would like to see any photos if anyone is willing to share and honest opinions from anybody in a similar situation. My other thought is to have my remaining breast removed and stay flat. Does anyone know if this is an option with the NHS?
