Hi everyone
So after having a reluctant seroma/ haemotoma drained and aspirated 8 times since my lumpectomy and lymph node surgery in March 2023 my cooked boob has finally healed and despite a small cavity collapse causing a dent just under the surgery scar I’m all done with consultations unless at some future point i want lipo to fill out the space and dent… I love my surgeon!

Firstly good news you are finally sorted
I had a mastectomy in January this year
My second b cancer
The first time i had lumpectomy chemo and radio
This time mastectomy
I had seroma drained twice in the first 6 weeks post op
Now 7 months on I developed a haematoma under the scar and had that drained last week with a vacuum machine
They got 200ml blood out
My problem is it seems to have filled up and is all red and bruised
Im sure it’s filled up with blood again
Im on prophylactic antibiotics and it doesn’t feel infected.I feel ok
How many times was your harmatoma drained and did they get much out? I feel fed up and my mastectomy scar is all swollen

You sound pretty miserable which is a horrid place to be and should absolutely see your team again as it sounds like the scar tissue and cavity have filled up again and to ensure no underlying problems or infections
Over the last 16 months in my case the amount drained/ aspirated has reduced each time, with last one only being 30ml
I hope they get you sortrd and please call them tomorrow
