Breast Cancer Care is running sessions on Finances and Work for anyone interested in finding out about the rights of people with breast cancer in the workplace and the types of benefits that are available.
An employment advisor and a benefits advisor will be there to answer your questions and there will also be an opportunity to have a coffee and a chat with other people in a similar situation.
29 June - Liverpool - 1pm-3pm
16 August - Doncaster - 1pm-3pm
30 September - Middlesbrough - 1pm-3pm
12 October - Manchester - 1pm-3pm
2 November - Newcastle - 1pm-3pm

Do you hold any of these sessions that are out of ‘normal office hours’ or at weekends? I would have been interested in attending one, but as I work full time, this isn’t possible.
I realise that everybody works different hours and it would be impossible to accomodate everybody, but surely between the hours of 1 and 3 midweek are a time when potentially the maximum number of people are at work. If the session is about employment issues most of the people wanting to attend could potentially be in work.
Sorry, I don’t mean to moan or be negative, I just wondered if you wanted feedback before planning future events.

All the sessions are up North as I live and work in North London, no good to me
Same applies to me - all too far away. However I have had more problems getting to some local ones as do not drive (Portsmouth, Bournemouth etc)All quite hard to access if do not drive.

Hi everyone
I apologise for a typo as the session in Middlesbrough is from 6pm - 8pm.
We organise our sessions in conjunction with the local breast care nurses and discuss with them the times and topics that would be most suitable for their clients. In most areas this is in the afternoon but in Middlesbrough we do run our sessions in the evenings.
Nicky, I’m sorry that you will find it difficult to attend these events and I appreciate your feedback on the timings, we welcome your comments and will take them into account when planning future events.
We do run events in the south of England as well so please check our events pages to see if there is anything coming up nearer to you.
