Hi I have finished my treatment 2 days ago and people have said “are you going to celebrate?” Well I felt like saying no because I feel it’s not over. I have BC for the 2nd time, the 1st time was in 2011 on the left and the 2nd time in 2018 on the right. Both were new primaries and not recurrences but still it’s hard having gone through it twice. With the first time I had a lumpectomy and the 2nd a mastectomy and a LD flap recon. I was told by my surgeon I can have a breast lift next year to match the right side but now I’m thinking I can’t go through another episode of BC again and have asked my BC nurse that I’m thinking to have a mastectomy on the remaining breast with a recon with implant as I couldn’t run the chance of going through this again and who knows I might not be lucky next time. I mean I have had it twice now there is a chance I could get it again as I got the 2nd BC whilst on Tamoxifen. I’m now on Lerozole and Zoladex.
