First appointment with surgeon
First appointment with surgeon Hi there
I have my first appointment with the surgeon tomorrow - 12 months post surgery.
I assume this will be an examination to see how the scars are healing.
Has anyone else seen their surgeon 12 months on? I’m a little nervous to say the least. What with that and the thought of a possible 20 mile drive in the SNOW!!!
Thanks
Sandra

Hi Sandra
I saw the surgeon for a check up 3 months after surgery (Aug), then 3 months after that ( Nov ). She then asked me when I was seeing the Onc, which is April 2007. She said I need a mammagram in April but because I’m seeing the ONC also in April not to see her until August 2007. That’s as long as the Mammy is ok!
Wouldnt fancy a drive in snow either!!

surgery… Had 12mth check up with surgeon , had mammo prior seeing him -(so went through the usual angst of having to wait for results.) It was pretty low key -he just told me the mammo was clear , prodded the boob (what’s left of it),-told me the scar had healed well, gave me another form for the following year and sent me on my way.Phew!
Cherry.
Appointment went well Hi
Went to see the breast surgeon the other day. We spent a good 20 mins chatting. He was very good and gave me a thorough examination - told me my scars had healed well, etc.
Explained to me that the reason I felt so tired all the time was a combination of the radiotherapy and the herceptin although it takes at least 6 months for the body to recover after chemotherapy.
He did feel I had gone back to work too soon especially as I was working full time - I went back 3 weeks after finishing radiotherapy - but he was glad that I was back in work!
He will be arranging for my first mammogram within the next couple of weeks and I don’t have to see him again for another 12 months.
What a relief…
Sandra
