Hi,
you will probably have a mammogram, and possibly an ultrasound scan. They may even do a biopsy as well. I had one last week and get my results on Wed. Fingers crossed its benign, lots are.

Hi Janet

I think there are targets that have to be met regarding how long it takes from seeing your gp to getting an appointment at a breast clinic so that could explain why things seem to be moving so fast.

I can’t help you personally with your question about what will happen at the breast clinic because I was diagnosed through screening. However, a few friends of mine have been to a breast clinic, had tests and been given the results by the time they leave.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Love
Maude xx

Hi janet6412

As well as the support you receive from the other users you may find it helpful to read the BCC booklet on referral to a breast clinic as it gives information about what to expect at the clinic and details of the different tests you may have. If you would like to read this booklet on line or get a copy just follow the link below:-

I hope this helps

Kind regards

You have to be seen within 14 days of you visiting your GP and getting a breast clinic referral hence why it seems to you that everything is moving very quickly. As said before expect to have the tests that MaggieM wrote about. It is a bit of a impersonal experience and you will be shocked at how many people are there but keep your chin up and see this like any other thing you find wrong with you. After all if you had a toothache you would go see the dentist to get it sorted view this as just the same, each area has its own little speciality. I hope it all turns out well for you and remember anything you don’t understand ask the Dr’s or BCN to explain to you in plain English as unfortunately the medical profession do tend to talk in jargon. You will be given lots of information and leaflets to read at home again do this at you leisure and don’t be aftraid to say you don’t understand.

Hi Janet6412, I am sure you will get on just fine tomorrow and you must try not to worry too much. It is good that you are getting things checked out and so quickly too. You will probably be examined by a doctor and they may want you to have a mammogram or an utrasound test. But it really depends what the specialists think is approprate for YOU. Let us know how you get on tomorrrow. I hope you don’t have to wait too long for any results. Lots of us have been through what you are going through now and we are here to listen and support you if we can, love Val, (Scottishlass).X

Hi Janet6412
Good luck with the results in the morning, we’ll all be rooting for you
