First chemo tomorrow 26 July 2016

I have been fast tracked / rushed / hurtled through to have my first chemo tomorrow. I have to go in early to have my bloods taken and then hope it all gets processed quick enough to get to (a) a group session for info and then (b) the actual chemo. I’m feeling a mix of nervous and cross.

any chance of some first chemo tips?

what to wear (or not)

what to take (a book, physical or audio on iPad?)

my bloke is coming to meet me for the group session and then the chemo.

Hi there,

If you pop onto August thread there is a load of tips from Belle and Sue.

Good luck. x

I promise the anticipation is worse. Take a deep breath, you can do this xx

Thanks - I’ll visit there x

Really useful list but God I wish I’d found it earlier than now. Am starting to be terrified :frowning:

LisaMary, hope your first session went ok. I’m only a week ahead of you. I was the opposite, my chemo was delayed due to further op and then complications. I nearly think it is better to be rushed through. Means time to focus on worrying. And as Emma said, the anticipation is often worse. And as for not being prepared, as long as you have someone to support you, they can get you anything you need of your chemo shopping list. Hugs x

Bleugh. Well the chemo seemed to go ok but then… Very sick almost continuously for 9 hours. Had to go to hospital for anti emetic and rehydration. Very tired now but was relieved yesterday to both eat and sleep. Hope that’s turned a corner for the mo.
