Hi there everyone just to let you know I had my first FEC on the 4th october, its a strange feeling I havent been too bad sick first night then remembered anti-sickness tabs!! Just feel tired I tried the cold cap it was alright so we,ll see what happens! I,ve got a bit more energy today so that makes alot of difference . Roll on no. 2 it seems a long way off . But i try to keep occupied (reading watching TV. shops etc.) such a change from work
Well done Marie. You have made a good start. I found being occupied took my mind off the treatment and as you progress through the chemo you will soon find that you have fewer days of treatment ahead than the number of days of treatment that are history.
Hiya
I’ve got my first FEC starting next Tuesday the 16th. Glad to hear yours went well, I hope the same for myself as I’m not a very good sick note!!
Vanessa
well done you! Thats one down already, so you should feel really proud of yourself. You are now an official member of the ‘red wee’ and ‘chemo caners’ clubs!!
I hope your side effects are minimal and I wish you well as you approach your next session,
I’ve had my first FEC today. It was fine, I feel a bit odd but not particularly bad. I’ve taken the anti-nausea tablets and am wearing magnetic anti-sickness wrist bands.
I really didn’t feel like eating, but as I’ve lost a bit of weight lately (and was thin before so can’t afford to!) I ate ‘beige’ food as recommended by a friend. I had chicken and mushroom soup with dry bread, a banana and some rice pudding, and did not feel sick at all. Apparantly brightly coloured food can make you feel a bit queasy.
I hope this helps anyone who is feeling a bit sick.
Five to go and counting…
