i had my first rad treatment today-nothing to it folks-don’t be scared ! am aware of the possible side effects but was treated with respect and given dignity etc x
yeay, well done you. You’be fine. Keep an eye on your boob/scar in case it gets sore. Otherwise simply count down to freedom!
thanx revcat-2 down-13 to go !!
I’ve got my appt tomorrow to sign forms, be told what to expect, have markers done etc. No idea when I’m starting rads yet but will be soon. The only bother I have about it right now is that it’s a long way away and I don’t yet know how we’re going to manage it or what times I’ll be given etc.
Worried about tiredness and when I’ll get to snooze in teh day, most days I need to have 2 hours in the afternoon, on top of a full nights sleep and I still feel cr*p.
If I dont do this I feel very very ratty.
Hi El K, when I went for my planning I was asked if I had a time I preferred, so they could try to accommodate that. I would mention to them that afternoons are particularly bad for you.
Hope it goes well for you and does not add to the fatigue you are already enduring.
Hugs & prayers
Hi everyone,
I didnt find the rads too bad whilst I was having them!! It was a bit tiring, I think it was the having to go every day, to and fro,
I developed a dark tinge to the area that was being treated, used aqueous cream, no soap at all, no deodorant, then on completion was ok for about 4 days, then I had a massive blister/burn develop under my arm, I went to my g.p. who gave me fucidin cream which cleared it up virtually immediately. I personally found the rads much more do-able than the chemo, once all the treatment has finished, relief, and very mixed emotions.
Best wishes to everyone as they embark on the next stage of the journey. x Liz x
