First time posting

Hi,

My first time posting on this group, reaching out to see if any other young mummies on here going through similar to me.

I am 32yrs old married have 2 young children 6yrs & 4yrs.

Have had mastectomy straight after implant reconstruction with all lymphnodes removed. All went well now 4 weeks post surgery.

On Mon i meet oncologyist to see about treatment plan i am thinking it will be chemo, radiotherapy. At the moment i am once a month prostap hormone injection. No side effects as such just hot flush now and then as put me into early menopause.

Look forward to speaking to you

Hey lovely ,

im in a similar boat . I’m 34 , I had chemo first , then had surgery and implant reconstruction with full lymph node removal , and I have got to have radiotherapy in a few weeks .

I am currently on hormone injections every 4 weeks ( zoladex ) and will also have to take tablets in the next few weeks as well .

im the same I have numbness under my arm a little bit now where lymph nodes were removed but getting better by the the day .  Hope you well .

Hi,

I am also in a very similar boat! I’m 35 with a 1 year old and a 3 year old. It’s tough with young children but the more reading I’ve done, the more common  it seems to be in young women - I was really ignorant to this before I was diagnosed.

I was diagnosed in July, had 5 months of chemo then mastectomy, implant reconstruction and sentinel lymphnode biopsy early January. Thankfully lymphnodes clear so no further surgery or radiotherapy. If you do need chemo, happy to answer any questions you have.

I have a prescription for exemestane …just waiting for the courage to start taking it! Not particularly looking forward to the potential side effects but I guess the sooner you start the sooner you finish!

Sending lots of love x

Hi mel1989, and all the other ladies on this thread.

I’m 36, married with two girls. They’re 5 and 2. I was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer grade 3, 2 weeks ago. I saw the breast surgeon this week and she has recommended chemotherapy first, and surgery later. I have an appointment next week with the oncologist and am really hoping to start treatment soon as I can see and feel the lump getting bigger by the day.

I’m really anxious at the moment. I have to have my lymph nodes biopsied again tomorrow because the first biopsy results were inconclusive. Then a CT-PET and an MRI next week. Did any of you ladies have all of these scans and tests done? It’s making me really anxious and worried as I don’t know whether this is normal or not.

It’s comforting to know there are others in the same boat, though I wish none of us had to be here in the first place.

Hi@mel1989

Finding some comfort in reading your post, I seem to be in similar circumstances.

Im a 34 year old mum of 2 boys (2&6). I had my first biopsy results on 2nd June which confirmed a 2cm her2/er +. I had a further biopsy for another ‘suspicious’ area on the same breast and await that results before il get my options (lumpectomy/masectomy)

So glad your doing well after surgery. Did they remove lymphs are a precaution? Did they mention now long after surgery the treatments would start?

I am hoping for my surgery sometime in July. So eager to get going with it all!!! My chats with the breast clinic nurse, due to having her2+ I think my journey will be very similar with chemo/radio and early menopause ?.

Have you managed to stay pretty upbeat? I usually am but after a hectic day find myself on Google and down a rabbit hole of possible scary scenarios ?.

Sending good vibes
