Hi
I completed my first week of 3 yesterday (Saturday) & now have 2 days without rads for a rest. Although I’ll be in work tomorrow.
Has anyone had any muscle type soreness at end of first week?
My skin is fine so far; but today I have an area where my armpit meets my boob which feels quite tight & a little swollen.
I was expecting things to build from later in the second week to a week or 2 after rads finished.
Apart from that no issues at all; week went very well except delays; which always seem to be on the “number 6 machine” I’m on. Oh well Saturday went to time & as I had asked to see my treatment plan they went through that with me.
A bit odd seeing bits of you in 3D; gave the appearance of a shop mannequinn dummy.
Still I know what steps they took to keep exposure to lung/heart to minimum as it is my left boob being zapped.
I hope my hot spot doesn’t get any worse, started taking paracetamol to ease it.

Hi Lynne,
Glad your first week wasn’t too bad and hope your next two go well. I start on Tuesday, bit nervy, but think I’ll be OK once I get going.
Good luck this week.

Hi Polly
Thanks for your message.
I found the first session was alittle longer as they explained everything going on, and answered any questions I had.
First 3 sessions I also had “pictures” taken, these they compare to plan made to ensure you are in correct position (this is the longest bit).
Next 2 sessions were quicker (although delays on appointment times is very common).
I asked to see my treatment plan which they were happy to do on Saturday as they had more time. A bit wierd seeing yourself in 3D. I thought it would be a computer printout.
I looked really poorly in 3D as they used a greenish colour. The full frontal showing my tatoos looked a bit like a mountain range & I’m not particularly big boobed!
Relax & let the radiographers push you about. I was too helpful on the first day & it took a little longer than it probably needed to.
I think forums going down today to move to new site; so I’ll post another message when back up & running. Hope yours goes like clockwork.
I was offered a gown that could be opened for your various bits; but I would have to change & sit in waiting room; I declined & just whipp top off as only short distance to treatment table…
Take care
Lynne
