Flu Jab

Been offered this and was wondering what other people’s opinions are. I have never had one before as I have never felt the need, being a generally healthy person (apart from the toxic cells inside me). Mets in Bones & Lungs, so have been told it may be a good idea but is it worth doing? I did not bother during my primary breast cancer treatment even though immune system was weakened due to chemo. Not on chemo now (Hormone suppressants only currently), but is the damage to my lungs reason to go for it?

Hello. .I was the same and only started having the flu jab two years ago …I’m not sure about it but can say that the past two winters I had a couple little sniffle colds but nothing that lasted more than a few days.
I didn’t get any side effects either …

I’ve been having them for years - I paid for them at Superdrug till this year, now I’m eligible for free one as now 65 and had it on Saturday. There’s a lot of old rubbish talked by those who won’t have them - i.e. “it gives you flu” etc. It doesn’t. I’d go for it if i were you. My practice also give pneumonia jab at the same time, but in a different arm, and as I am not having any jabs in my surgery side arm I have to go back next month for it so they can use the same arm as for the flu jab. Seems like a really good idea, and one pneumonia jab does you for life. Could be a life-saver when I’m old and decrepit.

Had mine yesterday, have done for the last 4.5 years since diagnosis. Had proper flu many many years ago and don’t want that again! Helen x
