My wife was admitted to hospital after suffering a severe reaction to her first paclitaxel to treat secondary BC that has metasasized to her lymph nodes and bladder resulting in a nephrostomy.
Following CT and X-Rays, fluid was found on her right lung, around a litre was extracted. It looks like this fluid is filling her lung again and won’t be discharged until the respiratory team have made a plan.
Has anyone or know of anyone experiencing similar?
Is it plural effusion? If so yes I have and have the fluid drained every couple of months, it causes breathlessness so I know when it needs doing without it always being picked up on the CT scans

It is a plural effusion.
That’s what I have and initially they were quite worried by the volume but over time the volume being created by my body has lessened. I hope they get Nikki (??) sorted with it very soon. For me I just phone the lady who does the drain when I know it needs doing and she books me in within a day or two. It takes about 30 mins each lung(depending if both need doing or not) and I go home and carryon as normal for another couple of months.
