Follow up appointment from WLE and biopsies

Hi Ladies,i had my op 13th of May ,home on the same evening.A bit sore and bruised ,but glad that i have started my treatment. The only thing that worries me is that i got my follow up appointment date today and it is for 22nd May ,that seems very quick as i thought it took 2 weeks for the tumour and nodes to be checked,My mind has gone into overdrive thinking that something must be very wrong or that they didn’t get a clear margin .How long did you Ladies have to wait for follow up appointments .I would be very thankfull for thoughts on this ,Love to all going through this .Elliesx

Hi ellies.

That was about how long I waited. I got my op on a thurs and results 11 days later. I think every hospital is different in how they arrange their clinics. I know some ladies had to wait a few days extra recently because of all the bank holidays. I took a look at my report and it was done the day I got my results.

they cannot tell anything else until the tumor is checked. So I don’t think the date is anything extra to worry about or any hint either way.

Glad to hear you are doing well after your op. Take it easy and be good to yourself.

Hi Ellies
My results were exactly 2 week’s after my WLE & SNB. I was given my appointment when I left the hospital after my surgery. I wouldn’t be to worried about it. Hope your results are good news for you.

Hi ellies

I was given my full results, treatment plan, everything was explained and they gave me the leaflets for my hormone therapy drugs.

All very organised apart from the wait as I was the last appointmemt. My BCN had a quick word when I went in and told me it was good news so I was happy to wait. The surgeon answered all the questions on my list and took the time to make sure I understood everything.

they also gave me all the time scales for treatment so, although I knew I had a wait before seeing oncologists I knew how long it would be and when my treatment would start. That helped, as you know, waiting is torture.

hope you get the best result possible.

Thanks ellie.

to be honest it was all a bit too much at the time. All the info and trying to sort it out in my head. I now just deal with one thing at a time. Just now it’s rads. Last one tomorrow. Then I’ll wait until I’m back to normal and start hormone treatment. The oncologist said that was ok so I’ve delayed things a little.

it’s all a lot to deal with and the waiting just causes my mind to work in overdrive. Things do settle down when you get your treatment plan and results. Hang in there.
