For wizzd Hi wizzd
Sorry not looked at site for a few days.
My Mum is doing really well. After radiotherapy she seemed to go downhill very quickly but this is normal I think as basically you have poison in you! It was hard though as she was in pain and for the first time, she looked really ill.
She has now had her second lot of IV Pamidronate and has just gone to Egypt for 10 days! She says she feels stiff in the mornings but on the whole seems a bit better. She still needs a stick to walk but generally more good days than bad.
When I first found out I really struggled to cope and was worried my mum wasn’t really sure what it meant. I phoned the help line which was so, so helpful. They sent me some factual leaflets on secondary breast cancer and bone cancer, which my mum has read and somehow that made me feel like she understands what is happening.
She is very positive and to be honest I try to take her view and just not really think about things too deeply and feel I will cope with things as they come along.
How are you donig? Sorry seem to ramble on about me and not really asked about you! Has your mum started any treatment yet? Had a CT scan?
Keep me posted.
Hug to you and your mum
Love Lisap

Dear Bevers I have started a new thread with your post titled ‘Bone mets’ in the secondary breast cancer room as it will be seen by more users this way. Hope you don’t mind.

lisap re mum Hi Lisa

Thanks for reply, great to hear your mum went away, mum is off to canada in may she doesnt care about anything else!!
You are right about not thinking too much I started to after the leaflets sent to me, like you, and now one bit at a time . its best to cope for her sake this way
She has been to a nurse who is talking to her if she wants to, and is at mo on 4 weeks radiotherapy… feeling very sick. She sits in waiting rooms and reads papers that quote things like 1 in 10 people only survive from sec bone cancer, this made her upset and worried she only told me 4 days later as nurses there told her not to read papers!!
She is on Femara and anti nausea which didnt work so is going on something stronger next few days for sickness
Love and hugs to you and mum thaks so much for reply , did go on live forum but realised its more for the people with secondaries not family!!
