Hi I’m sandy 63, I’m new to this forum, I had a mastectomy in December 2019, A week ago I found 2 lumps in my remaining breast I’m now waiting for a letter from the hospital. I’ve only told my partner & my best friend. they’ve been really supportive but it’s hard for them to understand I get that & I really appreciate them for caring but i need to talk to people that know how I feel.
I have a daughter & she doesn’t know, my niece has just gone through breast cancer & she’s a survivor, but her & my daughter are going to do tandem sky dive to raise money for Macmillan, so I didn’t want to tell my daughter because i need her to have a clear head but I will after she’s done that. Sorry if I’ve gone on & on I just needed to talk. Thank you for reading this.

Hi Sandy,
Welcome to BCN, the place nobody wants to need to have to use, but are very grateful its here at a challenging time in life. I think you are right, there is nobody truly understands unless they’ve been there themselves, as much as people care and support its hard to ‘get it’. Those who have kind of ‘walked’ in your shoes means that you don’t need to spend so much time explaining and much is understood without words.
Your daughter and Neice - wow to them ! When are they doing the skydive ? You must be incredibly proud of them. You KNOW this is treatable, from your past experiences, but you also know how tough it is psychologically, physically and emotionally, we are all here and understand. x
