Hello, I had a mastectomy 10 months ago, thankfully no radio- or chemotherapy, just Tamoxifen. I’ve been trying to find parabens-free make-up. For my eyes, I just dye my eyebrows and mascara: The stuff they sell in Boots has no parabens.
As for lipstick, I tried Dr Hauschka, it’s nice but rubs off easily.
I’ve now found a Swedish product called Curiosa which is henna based. I ordered it online and it arrived today. It cost £12.99 plus £2 p&p. I ordered what looked like a pale colour but it’s really bright! Hard to believe this is totally natural… Anyone else tried it?
HI
Have not tried that lipstick.I have found a range of mineral lipstcks, moisturisers and eye shadows on line from e.l.f.Their lipsticks cost £3.50 and contain no parabens, preservatives or chemical dyes.lots of shades and really reasonable delivery.
Thanks for your help, Lucinda! I have not heard of e.l.f. and will look them up. I tried Green People but it was so faint, I could not tell I had anything on.
Actually, another product that’s not bad is the Lip Shimmer range from Bert’s Bees. I have the shade ‘Rhubarb’ and I think it was £4.95. It’s not particularly long-lasting but no worse than Dr Hauschka, which cost a stonking £18! I got the Bert’s Bees product from a local-ish shop but it is no doubt available online.
Not tried that one but I have found ones that are good from Nvey. I also really like Lavera lipstick which stays reasonably well but not as good as the Nvey
I’ve just found a website that has a good range of lipsticks (I’ve not used this site but looks great). Nvey is page 6 and if you click on the lipstick you’ll see a colour chart at the bottom of the page. I have found that these lipsticks come out darker than they are shown.
They’ve also got lots of other ranges. In fact I’ve never seen a site with so many. Might have to buy something myself now!
In case anyone is interested, it turns out that Lipcote is parabens free. It also happens to be vegetarian. Hurrah, I don’t need to go out with manky lips!
