found a lump

hi im 43 and 3 weeks ago i found a lump in my left armpit at first it was painful but now its just there with now pain but my left breast is tender should i be concerned

Welcome to the Breast Cancer Care discussion forums, you’ve come to the right place for some good support.

I’m sure your fellow forum users will be along shortly and will be telling you the same, and that’s to go and get the lump checked out with your GP as soon as possible, but do remember though that most lumps are not breast cancer but do need to be checked.

Hi Shane

If you’ve noticed it, take it along to an expert and get it checked out, so that hopefully you can be told there’s no cause for worry.

Clearly if you’ve made the effort to come on here, then you’re already concerned, so let the experts take a look and then you’ll know, one way or the other.

Call your GP on Monday and ask for an emergency appointment, get a referral to the breast clinic (should be within 14 days but often much quicker) and get it checked.

DON’T put it off, that just extends the worry time.

Hi shane i would def get it checked out, better to be safe than sorry and no one will think badly of you if its nothing just happy, i agree with chocciemuffin you must be already worried if your on here, get it checked first thing monday, good luck and fingers crossed x

I agree you need to know one way or the other so please make an appointment on monday and youre gp will refer you to breast clinic but dont put off because of fear. Remember 90% of lumps turn out to be nothing to worry about and it could also just be a swollen gland under youre arm if you have an infection or cyst,but you still need to be certain xxx big hugs Julie
