Hi all
I’m new to this site ![]()
Yesterday my GP referred me to breast clinic, and have appointment for 20th March.
On Thursday night my right breast felt a little tender, which was unusual as i was just coming to the end of my period. When i touched my breast i could feel a hard lump. Although it is hard it seemed to move and pop about under touch and feels a little sore. I have had a cyst a few years ago and it doesn’t feel life that. GP said he wouldn’t say it was a cyst either but wasn’t sure what it felt like ![]()
I am 41 and suffer horrendously painful and lumpy breasts for about 10 days before each period. I am getting myself into such a state as my mother had breast cancer although she was 68 when diagnosed and was told it wasn’t a genetic thing it was just like a cancer anyone could get anywhere so iwas at no higher risk
Would appreciate any advice or words of comfort as i am a bit of a state
Thank you xx

hi there, you have done the right thing by getting an appointment and although im sure the 20th seems yonks away, the hard part is waiting. Let us know how your appointment goes and wishing you all the best x
Hi there, I think I am a little bit ahead of you in the diagnosis process, but only just. I found a lump, GP believes it may be too hard to be a cyst and I have been referred to the breast clinic. My appointment is this coming Thursday, so I am going through that waiting period, like you. If you have had a cyst before, have you been to a Breast Clinic previously? I expect a lot of people have trawled through the internet when in our position and found all sorts of scary things. I am choosing to concentrate on the possible explanations (of which there are many) that do not involve malignancy. I am banking on the odds being in my favour, because it helps me get through the days. If you like, I can let you know how I get on. I came to this site looking for people whose stories are similar to mine for the comfort in knowing that whatever the outcome, you keep moving forward. Take care, and look after your psychological self.
Hi i am in the same boat i found a lump and been to the doctors she didn’t tell ne anything at all i don’t even know what to expect when i get to my referral appointment, i know exactly how you are feeling. And i wish you luck and as for worrying try to stay positive xx

Was getting ready and thought i’d best check time of appointment and could have gone mad when i realized it said 31st on the letter!
So stupid my head has been all over the place, so now i have a week to wait ![]()
Was at clinic for about 2hours and after mammogram, ultrasound etc found the lump in the right breast my GP didn’t think was a cyst turned out to be just that and I have a number of cysts in left breast too. And dense fibroglandular tissue. So nothing serious thankfully xx Thank you to all who have messaged me and replied over the last horrible 3weeks waiting. Xx
